We stayed as a family as we were attending a gig in the city and had booked the hotel nearly a year in advance. Our family room was spacious with comfortable beds but the room was boiling hot when we arrived even though the air conditioning was on full (and was very very noisy). I stood on a chair under the 3 different air con vents and could only feel a small amount of cool air coming from one of them. The fact that the room had floor to ceiling windows on two sides and it was a hot day had led to the room heating up like a greenhouse even though the curtains were shut when we arrived. This plus the very poor air con meant the room was stifling. I guessed the fact there was a small stand alone air con unit in the room meant this had been an issue for others. I phoned reception who sent someone straight away. He switched the air con off and on again before going to get ice for the air con unit. On trying to leave the room to go to the gig the room door would not “lock” so anyone could open it from the outside. Again we had to ring reception to deal with this. Thankfully on our return to the room it was slightly cooler as it was night time but I was kept awake by having to have the air con unit on full all night. The rooms are slightly tired, two of the four lifts are broken (a guy I spoke to said this had been the case for a year) and although polite and quick to look at the issues we had we were just afforded an “oh sorry about that” when we mentioned them

Disappointing stay for all the family, I would choose other places in Cardiff instead of here for same price. We booked 3 rooms. Two were not ready for check in at 3pm, we had to wait until 4:40pm for one of the rooms! If messed up our evening plans. Having paid extra for a privilege room we were very disappointed to be kept up all night by the sound of the lift shaft & pulleys by the room!

Lovely big triple room and bed’s really comfortable. Great having a shower and bath separate. Little extras like the water in foyer is a nice touch. Would have been nice not to have so many children’s swimming lessons on a Sunday morning when you go away for a relaxing weekend at a spa hotel.

The room was set up nicely the carpet was slightly dirty the windows were really dirty spoiling the view as I was on the 15th Floor and corner room so has windows all around very dirty. The noise was not good either as the windows let a lot of Road noise in the finishing touches around windows my child could have done a better job which didn’t look nice. Every time switched a light on the kettle went on which was off putting there was black stain on the bed sheet. I know I am being picky but when you are paying top money and in one of there better rooms you don’t expect issues. The bed was comfy I have stayed in worse places not dirtier window though

Two day holiday to Cardiff with my two children. I chose it as it had a pool which we loved. Breakfast was very good too. A great stay

This isn't the first time I have stayed in this hotel, and I would definitely stay there again. The overall look when you walk into the entrance is great. The car park is, interesting. Quite small, but I managed again to get a space. It is a tight squeeze getting around it when it's quite full, so be warned. The booking in of my vehicle was nice and easy, they have a tablet on the reception desk to check your vehicle in which is handy if you arrive (like we did), before you can checkin yourself. This time I brought swim and gym clothes and tried both. It was a little dissapointing that the person on duty didn't insist a Father of what looked like a 10 year old wasn't told it was not for children. The Dad was filming his child trying to lift weights which can't be good. This was followed by another one coming in with what looked like a 13yr old, who then clearly lied when the person on duty said the equipment was for 16yrs old and over. On top of that, I didn't think he was particularly helpful with the swimming side of things. I guess I could have asked more, but he just didn't seem interested. A lady in the locker area asked me if I'd had a massage there as she was looking for help on what to do. Sadly I couldn't help her, and she said the chap on duty wasn't very welcoming or offered any advice on what she should do or where she should go. Shame, as I suspect from the amount of robed people you see wondering around that this is a bit of a hit with people as a thing.

Had a very nice 2 night stay for a family party. The Spa treatment by Clare was excellent and all the other staff were very friendly.

Stayed in a family room that belongs in the ‘80s. Drab, ugly, dark decor (lots of brown) but the worst aspect was the horribly lumpy, soft ancient beds and pillows. Have not slept on a worse bed since hosteling 40 years ago. Room overall was functional but crying out for modernisation.
