Peartree Lodge Waterside

Lovely clean rooms family really enjoyed our stay

The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. I would not recommend the restuarant next door, service is terrible, food was extremely below expectations, there were women (patrons) in the restuarant with screaming kids and despite several people complaining, not one word was said to them by the staff.

We had an adjoining family room for 4 adults. This was a great spot on the canal where all the long boats parked. Had a meal and some beers at the adjoining restaurant and bar which was great and reasonably priced.

This hotel was chosen because it was in a lovely location, next to a canal and because it was close to where we wanted to visit (Bletchley Park). The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. The staff were very pleasant, helpful and professional. The bed was comfortable. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate were provided. There is a fridge in the room, which we were able to store bottles of water in. There was also a microwave in the room, which we didn't use but the hotel provided proper cutlery (not wooden or plastic) and crockery plates. Our stay was during a very hot spell, the room did not have air conditioning but they provided an electric fan which was quite loud but did cool you down. We couldn't have the fan on all night because it was loud and kept us awake. Overall, a lovely place to stay. I would recommend the Peartree Lodge Waterside to family and friend.

The property is adjacent to a marina, which made it rather interesting - we had a family of swans on the walkway just outside our room. Parts of the interior are 'tired'. Our room had 17 different signs advising us about different things ('hot water', 'shut the bathroom door to prevent the smoke detector from going off', 'this is for luggage storage, not a seat' and a very lengthy one about not smoking or using marijuana. It felt institutional. We didn't eat at the restaurant next door, which is not part of the property, but inquired about breakfast - it is rather dingy and overpriced.
