New Road Hotel

I have stayed many times and this was the first time I felt the hotel didn’t really care. No air con and just a fan heater. No cold welcome drink offered free, to try and make up for the truly uncomfortable heat and finally a fire alarm on check out day with no warning that it was a test. For families and elderly this could have been pretty distressing. Unimpressed.

The staff were friendly and helpful but the family connecting rooms were kind of small. The neighbourhood was completed so not suggested to stay last outside.

Had high hopes for this hotel as the reviews and pictures looked good. Arrived at the hotel check in was quick and easy, I booked the loft room with a hot tub also added the birthday package as it was for a birthday which was an extra £45. Got to the room there was petals on the bed, 4 peach and white balloons and a card saying happy birthday for £45 I could’ve done a better job. The balloons were the basic type you would have for a kids party nothing special was disappointed by this. The smart tv has no smart features as the hotel decided to disable it, there was no Netflix, no connecting your phone or anything just free channels. Again for the standard of the hotel and the price I would’ve paid expected something abit more premium even travelodge have more channels. The room is small considering I got one of the most expensive rooms, there was no cupboard to put your belongings in just a rail attached to the wall to hang things. Overall I wouldn’t stay here again especially for the price the highlight was the hot tub and balcony but everything else is average.
