Malmaison Birmingham

Our stay was overall lovely. Staff were great. Loved our room, bed was very comfortable. We'd requested a cot and there was one waiting in our room along with bedding and a changing mat. Breakfast options 10/10. Parking was a bit on the pricey side but it was very easy to go back and forth to the car if we needed anything. Only reason for 4 stars is we opted to order room service due to the baby being asleep and my partner having a leg injury so was in a boot. When I called down to order we were told they can only bring up cold continental breakfast but no hot food. So I had to go collect it by myself in a big tray, that was prepared very well to be fair. However, I really struggled to carry it through even the first pull door to the lift as I needed both hands to hold everything, then again struggled to get my swipe card to activate the lift to even go back up to our room. Thank goodness for the cleaner, I forget her name but something along the lines of Apinyah? She saw me struggle at the lift and helped me all the way upstairs. Eternally grateful to her. Would still definitely stay there again.

A short trip to the Midlands to see family early on Saturday so we needed a bed for Friday night. Malmaison was great. The mailbox carpark is immediately next door & with the discount code given by the hotel just over £18 for 24 hours (not bad these days). Lovely greeting at reception. Room 616 on 6th floor was very clean, very easy to sort temperature, plenty of storage if needed. Very comfortable bed (slept like a baby). Good bathroom with bath & shower. Considering it's right in the centre, there's no noise from outside so peaceful (only brief noise was from neighbours shouting & playing loud music in the early hours, not something the hotel can control). Food slightly pricey in the grill but not extortionate. Excellent staff, very friendly and attentive but not intrusive. Wouldn't hesitate to book again!

Excellent stay , really memorable, comfy, very family friendly , location and staff are great - only things that could be improved were quality of some cooked breakfast items , decor around bath tub and air con (bit difficult to control) but overall absolutely fantastic and probably best hotel in area by far , even versus Radisson. Definitely a fan who would recommend for any kind to stay, any time.

Really good, staff were 1st class, very helpful, very friendly, could not do enough for me and my family. Great location also, central and safe.

Amazing, welcoming and baby friendly place - we enjoyed our stay so much. Used the cafe next to reception after we dropped off luggage early. Very convenient. Right next to shops. Room temperature could be easier to control, check in quicker and cooked breakfast could be slightly better. Overall was excellent though and will be first choice in Birmingham when we are next back!

We travelled from the capital to visit family in Birmingham and booked the Malmaison for one night. I have to say that we were not disappointed. The room was lovely and spacious, the shower was just what the doctor ordered and the beds were so comfortable, I fell asleep virtually immediately! Breakfast the next morning was on point. I can’t knock anything about the trip. I’ll definitely be back!

Great hotel, friendly staff, very pleasant and unique decor. Very spacious room size i booked (Double double) which is great for a family of four. I will definitely be coming back.

Staying there with kids this weekend, i felt safe and secure. I went downstairs and heard a lot of noise from the bar in the lobby, could not hear anything on the 3rd floor in the room. Nothing was too much for the staff and with a big smile on their faces. Breakfast was lovely and a nice little selection. Conveniently located from the train station and the event center. Everything we needed a walk away

For a junior suite, the bathroom was small (separate bath and shower both small) and the bedroom area was overburdened with desks and chairs. Evening meal menu was limited and the quality of the food was poor
