Holiday Inn Express Birmingham - City Centre, an IHG Hotel

This hotel was a lovely hotel in an ideal location for the Utilita Arena and the Bull Ring shopping centre. Both within easy 10/15 mins walking distance. The room was lovely had all the amenities, very warm & clean & the bed was really comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and courteous and Wi-Fi was free. The free hot & cold breakfast was brilliant plenty of choice and the staff were filling up constantly. They don’t have an on-site car park but there’s one they recommend which is just a 5 min walk from the hotel. It’s a Your Parking Space carpark & we didn’t realise you get a 10% discount when staying at the hotel, so next time we won’t pre book we’ll pay on exit. There was plenty of spaces so we didn’t need to pre book. We followed our satnav but went passed it as it isn’t very well signed posted as it’s a public carpark. If you come passed the front of the hotel it shows you a big map of where it is. It’s a little opening tucked away by the ramp of the Crown Plaza Hotel. If you don’t pass the hotel then it’s on your right. It’s a great carpark partly undercover and the shutters come down at night for security. All in all a lovely experience and we will definitely use this hotel again and recommend to family & friends

Really lovey hotel, great staff, excellent location - close to train station, shops, restaurants, Lego, sealife. Good breakfast also provided. Only downside was the room was very tight for 2 adults & 2 children, fine for 1 night but if I was going again for longer than 1 night I would book 2 rooms.

Beds where big and very comfortable the let down was room quite small for a family very tight fit between wall and beds and my little one also hit his head on the wall counter because it was such a tight squeeze. All very clean though and nice bathroom, big lovely shower. Nice city view from window. Breakfast was nicely cooked & had a great selection. Nice dinning area. Parking very tight for larger cars. Conveniently situated for all main destinations and short walk.

Clean modern hotel, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast and good quality family room. Also good location for attractions and food/drink near the canal.

Warm welcome and unexpected activity pack, drinks and sweets for the children which was really kind and we loved the message in the lifts to the Strictly visitors. Breakfast buffet never disappoints - the pancake machine was brilliant! Staff all lovely - thanks

Are we booked a family room with a sofa bed, however, when we got to the room, the bed settee, what’s half hanging out and damaged on the bed not made up and all the cushions laid upon the main bed. We brought this to the attention of Reception and to be fair. They were really good and arranged for us to either have two brand-new rooms or keep that one room with a double bed and they give us an addition of twin, they also give us a partial refund to apologise. The reception staff were excellent and the hotel is in a fantastic location right in the city centre. Parking is also good literally three minute walk.

Hotel was nice and clean. Bathroom very clean and Dove hand wash and shampoo provided. Rooms a bit small for 2 adults and 2 children but we chose to stay in one room so can’t complain. Parking available at Aston car park (0.2 miles away) for £10 for 24 hrs. 15 min walk to shops. Overall excellent value for money!!!
