I accidentally booked this hotel in Birmingham ENGLAND when I had typed in Hotels near Children’s hospital in Birmingham Al. Hotels.com tried multiple times to talk to a manager to get me a refund. No response! I have never even been to England and when I got my confirmation email minutes after the booking i tried multiple times to cancel. They took my money for one wrong click of a button and I tried to cancel within minutes of the booking. My grandson was being sent by ambulance to children’s hospital here in the USA. I got charged for a hotel in another country and I still had to pay for another place for us to stay here in Alabama.

Was so looking forward to staying here as I used to visit with my Grandmother as a child. The check in was fine, however, our room was very disappointing, I expected it to be a little bit more grand, however it was clean, comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. There was only one bathrobe, one towel, one tea bag, one chocolate bar and one bottle of sterilised milk (YUK). Worse though was that our window looked as if the plasterers had just finished working - it was completely full of plaster splashes. I went to reception to see if we could move rooms as this was a special treat for my niece who had just graduated and I wanted everything to be just right, they were rammed checking in a wedding group so I spoke to a lady who said she would speak to someone and get us another room. When we returned, reception knew nothing about it and then tried to show me the best rooms they had left which were tiny and just not that great. We had a restaurant booking and needed to get ready but they kept insisting I look at other rooms and in the end I had to agree to stay where I was as they made us really late for dinner. They did provide an extra bath robe and towel etc which is fine but a lack of attention to detail at over £250 per night. We had breakfast which to be honest wasn't very impressive and all four of us found our food cold. When we checked out I did mention this to the supervisor who said he would speak to the manager and email me So far I have had nothing. Very poor!

My family and I had a very nice one night stay. The location is within walking distance of major sights in the City Centre and the train station. My husband and I had drinks at the beautiful Madeleine Bar. Unfortunately, there was only one person working (very hard) that evening, so service was slow. Breakfast at Isaac’s was great and the wait staff was attentive. Our sons made use of the small but decent gym. The only negative thing was that the safe in our room wasn’t working. We used the one in our sons’ room, so it was okay. Overall, very good stay.

Nice 4* hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean, tea and cofee station was available and free Cadbury's chocolate was included in arrival. There was a cold buffet breakfast and hot breakfast options available to order via a menu, lots of choice and good quality food in the hotels restaurant Isaac's (beautiful decor). Overall pleasant stay, in a convenient and central location. I would recommend to friends and family.

I called in advance to ask for Parking and was informed to Park at the B4 Parking site. On check out I gave my registration number for a 55% discount and this was not applied costing me £32.00 for a 15 hour stay. If I was aware of this I would have caught the train. Also on arrival I was allocated a disabled room, and when I asked if I could change this I was made to feel as this was inconvenient and that I had booked this room. (I hadn't). On a plus side the service in the bar was excellent with a very friendly and attentive young man that looked after our family and made my Fathers Birthday a pleasant celebration.

Love love love this hotel! Incredible stylish - we stayed in a junior suite and it was lovely and spacious. Mentioned it was a belated stay for my husbands birthday and they left a lovely note together with a cake and some chocolates! Madeleine bar stunning with amazing cocktails. 5mins walk to New Street so perfect for shopping! Breakfast cooked to order - delicious! We will be back x

I remember the Grand from when I was a child and after seeing a programme about its refurbishment I decided to spend a night there to break a journey to Lindisfarne. The hotel is lovely, well staffed and the staff are lovely, breakfast was good, the bed very big and comfortable. Some small criticisms, the unit in the bedroom where drinks are made has no lighting so very difficult to operate coffee machine and difficult to fill kettle because the tap is so low, also no shelf space in bathroom for toiletries. We parked in Snow Hill station car park and that was a nightmare.£16.30 for 24 hrs, machine doesn’t take notes so started firing in all the coins and machine jammed and couldn’t get money back. Tried to pay by phone but I am hard of hearing and couldn’t hear properly. Hubby had to leave the car park to get change then come back and use a different machine, they really don’t make things easy. I would love to stay again but the lack of parking puts me off.
