Hyatt Regency Birmingham

Absolutely fantastic stay from start to finish. Gabriela on reception made our trip super special in her attitude towards us. Friendly, professional and extremely welcoming. She is a total gem, Hyatt hotels, hold on to her! Solely based on our interactions with her I have recommended your hotel to many of my friends and family, several are planning to visit Birmingham and stay with yourselves. Thank you Gabriela!!!! I was travelling with my 12 year old daughter for our first special night away (3 older brothers were left at home) and she didn't want to leave the hotel and has already made me promise to bring her back. Our room was amazing, plenty of space, and spotlessly clean! We paid extra to have access to the club room and it was well worth it. The atmosphere in the hotel was so relaxing and inviting. Breakfast was fresh and gorgeous. The doorman (unfortunately I didn't get his name but know he has been there well over 12 years) was so friendly. The girl (again didn't get her name) in the spa was lovely. Thank you to all, we will definitely be back sooner rather than later. Would and have highly recommended your hotel to everyone!

Great location- disappointed that the children could use the pool on a weekend

A really lovely family stay, the foyer and lounge are very pretty. The food was good in the bar area as well and all staff very accommodating we will definitely stay again when in Birmingham. The only negative I had the shower was tricky to turn on and then blasted you when it came on but wouldn't stop me from returning.

Shower didn’t work properly, didn’t drain. Could use pool with 8 year old daughter, no kids under 12 allowed. Very disappointing.

Overall very disappointing : -if you come with kids you have to know, as incredible as it is, that the swimming pool is forbidden to kids from Friday to Monday. Kids means below 16. And does not matter if an adult come with them. On weekday pool only open from 11.00am to 7.00 (last entrance 6.30pm). Definitively not a familly hotel !!! A choice I guess.....but not well communicated ! -front desk people are not trained to recognize pre-paid trip. I ve bookes 2 rooms for 3 nights, every paid and debit. The y asked me to pay during check in. Need to found a manger to confirm paid. Same story during check out. Manager not available....after 20 minutes I was leaving not being sur they will sort out the case. -small things but for such hotel was expecting better : several damages here and there in the room (bathtub, holder missing, wall, tape...), only one bathrobe in the room, refill of coffee not completed.

I bought this as a gift for my friend and I am actually ashamed that I had gifted them something without trying it myself, first the staff were unprepared even though they had confirmed and been aware of the dietary requirements and the fact that a child would also be in the room so they would need a cot was not understood or reported to the staff on at the time. Some of the staff were rude along with thinking that the pool would be available to only being told once were all in our swim wear that a baby was not allowed in the pool as you can imagine this cause stressed and a huge inconvenience to us. The hotel was advised prior to the stay that the guests did not drink alcohol therefore it was agreed via a telephone conversation that an anniversary desserts plate would be provided and non-alcoholic cocktails, however when they arrived in the room a bottle of wine was waiting for them!!! My friend did complain to the hotel however they informed her that I would need to do it, through here which is also a real issue I have no understanding why they could not help my friend or make her stay more comfortable I will never recommend this particular hotel and I am very reluctant to book through Expedia again. The whole visit was very disappointing, and the way staff made my friend feel as if what do you expect you only paid £££ this is a top hotel, is not acceptable, I am a well-travelled individual and I will never use this hotel nor will I recommend it.
