Love this hotel, great facilities would be prefect if you had little kids too the pool area is awesome

Best weekend away! Check in was super quick and easy. Room was clean and tidy, a little small but had everything we needed. Nice big shower and a selection of pillows (firm and soft). Our room had no robes so we asked for some on our way to the pool and when we got back to the room they had put some in our wardrobe. Pool was lovely and warm, we stayed 2 nights and swam every day. Little games room for the kids was so much fun on a rainy day and well stocked, our girl didn’t want to leave. We selected a pool view room which was great except the room wasn’t sound proof so we could hear everyone in the pool as soon as it opened and late until it closed, I wouldn’t stay in this room next time. Breakfast was great! Had everything we would want, a full cooked breakfast, pancakes, cereals, fruits, juices, chocolate covered croissants were delicious and fresh still warm. Free parking was abundant and free wifi. Casting to the TV so we used our own Netflix which was easy to connect to. Had the best birthday weekend here and will definitely be back!

Very cool location right next to the geysers. Buffet is a little too pricey given the options. Dinner is much better than breakfast. Almost $100 for a family of 3 per meal.

Great for a family mountain biking getaway

Generally, it was happy to stayed. Specially breakfast was nice ,swimming pool and kids zone fantastic. However, when we arrived in the room there was no towels at all and left the dirty towel in the toilet.( I think that is cause by long weekend)

Thermal pool an obvious attraction for families. Close to thermal park and redwood forest. Not far to town

Okay experience, no big complaints but nothing stood out. We had a nice view which included the geyser at night. The room came across slightly dirty due to stains on the carpet and marks on the wall. Parking was free and easy. This came across as a better family hotel experience than couple getaway.

We liked the hotel's location, convenience of parking and friendly front desk staff. My family and I have been regularly staying in the hotel ever since it was Holiday Inn till now Rydges. Our most recent stay has been marked with few unpleasant things. To start off, we stayed in two Deluxe double rooms, both the bathrooms had cleanliness issues: hair in bath and vanities, dirty toilet bowl, hand soap and other amenities containers not clean. I understand we are adhering to an environmental friendly approach, however it would be nice to have a note for where to get toothbrush etc. Overall the bathroom looked downgraded compared to the rest of the room. The most put off aspect was receiving a morning at 8:30 in our room 807 when we did not request, which woke us up and mess with our rest. To top up housekeeping knocked on our other room asking about our check out time at 10:15am when the hotel policy says clearly 11am check out. It shows a lack of proper training of staff. The breakfast was not at all reflecting the price. Lack of variety and quality. Bread station was messy and uncleaned for about 30 mins. Staff would not top up food items. No condiments or sauces (like Holiday Inn used to provide), coffee was horribly bitter. Serveware were dirty, staff would not put them away. Overall the value for money is not at all good. Being one of the best hotels in Rotorua, like it used to be with Holiday Inn, we would expect better service and quality, however it’s disappointing.
