Novotel Ottawa City Centre

They changed from Novotel to DoubleTree one night prior to our stay which ended having a very confused checking in process. They are shortstaffed when it comes to amenities and requests. Parking is only available accross the street at the shopping centre. They have great housekeeping, breakfast buffet is decent and has lots of options. For the price and location its ideal for families

Upon my arrival for check-in, I was disappointed by the unfriendly demeanor of the staff. Their attitude suggested that they were simply there for a paycheck and did not take pride in their work. However, I must commend the housekeeping lady who went above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. She was incredibly kind and eager to assist, and the room was impeccably cleaned. Unfortunately, my experience at the hotel was marred by several issues. The hotel itself is in need of updating, with old and smelly carpets that gave off an unpleasant odor. The pictures on Expedia did not accurately represent the state of the rooms. Additionally, the location of the hotel, while convenient, proved to be quite noisy. The noise was constant, day and night, making it difficult to relax or get a good night's sleep. I would not recommend this hotel for families, as the noise and outdated conditions may not be suitable. However, if you're looking for a place to party, this hotel may meet your needs.

The hotel was quite nice. The area was good and bad- we were traveling with kids. The mall is right across the street, Byward Market is steps away- however the area is kind of sketchy with drug use and more...

The location was central to everything my family wanted to do. I was there for a work event and was able to catch an UBER at any time of the day! Really solid location. Surrounding area is a little dicy at night but excellent police presence added to safety. Ottawa also has a program called block patrol where volunteers sweep the streets every day to clean up hazards. Pretty cool!

You can’t beat the location .. it’s 10 steps from Ottawa’s best pedestrian center . The hotel is clean , and great - no complaints whatsoever . Also a great buffet buffet that’s free for kids under 15 , $25 otherwise . The kids loved the pool , all good !

the area was surrounded by street people who suffer from mental illness. our thoughts and prayers go out to these individuals, one individual overdosed and was completely unconsciousness. Not a pleasant experience to check in, followed by the hotel being dirty, stained carpets in elevators, hallways, my adult children felt unsafe. we checked out early, only to have the hotel to charge for the full stay.. it was very disappointing experience only blocks away from Parliament Hill Canada's capital.,

Would definitely stay with the family again!

My family and I had a good experience at Novotel in Ottawa. The room was exceptionally clean and the front desk staff very pleasant. Julie and Bonita in The Albion Rooms were superb hostesses each morning when we went for breakfast. The only issue was the lack of parking on site. We were not informed until check-in that the underground parking was unavailable and we had to park under the Rideau Centre across the road. Access to this lot was not easy or convenient. Prior notice of the parking issue would have been helpful.

The room would have been great for a couple or two singles, the room was quite small and lacked privacy in the bathroom (glass shower) for our family but that was an oversight on my part when booking. We enjoyed the pool and the gym and there were lots of options for food in and around the hotel. The parking connected to the hotel was undergoing maintenance so we parked just across the street which was connected to the shopping mall. All hotel staff we came in contact with were very friendly.
