Holiday Inn Express & Suites Welland, an IHG Hotel

Our family stayed at the hotel for three nights. While booking the hotel, I made a mistake with the number of beds we needed traveling with our kids. The manager agreed to changed our room without extra costs. Breakfast was also pretty good. I’ve stayed at several fancy hotels in DC, those hotels charging $700 per night and they don’t even offer free coffee.

We had a wonderful stay, the 3pm check in was perfect to give our kids time at the pool before we needed to get to an event. The room was clean and spacious. Service was great and the breakfast was great.

The property is new. Very clean and the rooms are large and well appointed. Check in was easy with pleasant staff at the reception desk. The heating cooling unit was loud. The pool is very disappointing as it’s only 3 feet deep. I suppose good for families but not very relaxing for us. Breakfast was very mediocre. The sausage tasted a bit strange, the pancakes were odd too. Coffee was undrinkable. Juice was good.

Most things are good! Staff at front desk super friendly, but pool has no towels that’s kind of bad and staff service breakfast is not kids friendly 😔

Stayed for 1 night with my kids. Felt safe. The hotel was very clean. Staff friendly. Peaceful and quiet. Kids were able to use the whole pool because it wasn't deep and they really enjoyed it. Breakfast was nice. Lots of options. Walmart and other stores right down the street, which was convenient. No complaints.

Hotel itself if fine and met all my expectations. Rooms were nice, breakfast was better than expected, location is fine. Our washroom smelled like it was cleaned with a dirty cloth, I could smell that dirty scent of an unclean cloth. The worst part of the stay was the staff response to an issue we had. My husband had microwaved a noodle bowl (bought in the lobby of the hotel) and it lit on fire in the microwave. So much smoke came from it, it made it difficult to sleep and even breath in our room for a while. It was midnight and we had clearly woken several people on our floor, as they all started opening their doors (obviously checking if there was a fire), that's how bad it was. And we had to sleep in that room, which we couldn't even open a window in to air out. When my husband brought the microwave to the lobby (to reduce the smoke in our room) and told the lady at the front desk what happened she seemed unbothered and didn't offer any help. Even worse is she said "this has happened before!" And they're still selling those bowls in the lobby, and could care less we were left sleeping in a smoke filled room (with a child i might add). It was a very disappointing experience. Clearly there is a lack of client service training within the facility.

Over all this was a new hotel, therefore it was clean and in a great location. I would like to see how it looks in two or three years. Great place to stay with your children.

Came from Manitoba Stayed with a family of six, it was very clean the laundry came in handy, the associates were very kind and respectful, I missed breakfast but the next door lady was raving about how good it was and they had many options, they couldn’t accommodate me for one of my booked stays but refunded me, as I booked threw third party, but I will for sure come stay at this hotel again cleanliness was 10/10
