I really liked that the hotel offered free passes for the local Roam bus service. The hotel was a 15 minute walk away from the downtown area and walkable when we did not want to wait for the bus. The Expedia VIP bonus offer was a nice surprise and our family loved it.

The hotel was nice. It was clean, but we their sister hotel the Moose is much nicer. It was cold this weekend in the evenings but they wouldn’t make a fire in their main lobby which was disappointing as it would have been a nice area to hang and relax. The Moose hotel always has their fire going and it so nice. Not the best hotel for kids as there is no pool and it’s just a large, really hot hot tub and sauna. Hotel is located at the far end of the Main Street of Banff so it’s a longer walk downtown, but if the weather is okay it’s fine.

Property is clean and nice, price is right. It’s a 10 min walk from downtown so not bad, lots of restaurants in the area. Rooms are a bit too small, we got the 2 queen bed for my 3 kids and me and felt there was not enough space. They don’t really have a pool, it’s a big hot tub but my kids like it even though it was very crowded. Staff was very nice and helpful, if we stay there again we’ll get a bigger room for sure!

First of all, I chose this hotel because of the VIP benefit. But I didnt get anything at all. No food or drink as extras. No free breakfast. Parking is complimentary anyway for all guests so that doesn't count. We have to wait for a few minutes for our room which is okay. They have to ask housekeeping how long it will take for our room to be ready and they said 10 minutes. I really felt like it was rushed. I dont find the beddings completely clean especially the fitted sheet. 11am is the checkout and we asked for a late checkout and have to fight for the 30 minutes extra. They eventually said yes. But a staff was already knocking in our door about checking out 10 min after 11am. We told him front desk knows we are checking out at 11:30 I have kids and a dog so I asked if a cart can be brought to our room. They said they dont do that and have to get it ourselves. Again, no VIP experience here at all. We are frequest travellers to Banff because we live in Calgary but I wont be back in this location unfortunately. I do suggest Expedia to take them out of the VIP list. A few things to note in this hotel: there is no air conditioning. This will be a deal breaker if you go during the summer as the rooms can get very hand. They have some electric fans that can be requested. The rooms are also very small but very spacious washroom. The hot tub at the basement is big and can fit a lot of people. Overall, due to our experience, we wont be staying in this hotel anymore.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We particularly enjoyed dinner with our children at the Keg. The staff there were very accommodating with our small children.

We had a room booked then there was a strange smell and we found dirty socks in between the beds they swapped us rooms. Then I set up the couch for my kids to sleep in. There was a huge urine stain on the mattress. With two other little black spots looked like bugs I then checked over the who room and found the coffee maker had mold and very dusty in all areas. I talked to staff again and they put a sheet on the mattress. But nothing Eles. And told use they can’t do anything Eles for us I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you want to see the photos I have those also

dream ski vacation with family…so much fun. Boys loved the breakfast at the keg…skiid all day…had a hot tub and walked downtown. Just a nice distance to walk for shopping and food. Rooms were comfortable and clean..gym was small but I made it useful…great place for families

My wife and I constantly travel and have stayed at many hotels. We are usually very easy going and understand not every stay can be seamless. However, every part of our stay at the caribou lodge was terrible. Staff was very unhelpful throughout our stay. The gym was only big enough for one person and the treadmill was broken. The “nice spa” was full of kids the entire time and we were never able to use it. In fact, the entire hotel was full of kids the entire stay(as if multiple kid camps were staying). The WiFi did not work at all. Our room was small with absolutely no view, it felt like a dark dungeon with a musty smell. Unable to upgrade if we paid the difference because apparently they were fully booked. The maids would come and only replace towels and make the bed but would not clean the room. I know they are pet friendly but both our allergies were going crazy. Only convenience of this hotel is the ski shuttle will pick you up outside the hotel. We still managed to make the best of the trip but I highly recommend choosing a different inn when coming to Banff.
