Holiday Inn Sydney Airport, an IHG Hotel

Great property and the room was very clean. We were only in Sydney for 24 hrs but this was a great place for our family to crash and reset in the morning with the great breakfast!

On arrival at 3:15pm (after regular checkin time of 2pm) was told our room type wasn’t available because it had not finished being cleaned. I have two young kids and needed the room to get ready to be at a party at 4pm. I asked if we could get a room to get ready in and then they can swap us to room with the bedding configuration we needed. They said no. Had to check in after 7pm because we couldn’t wait around. Then next morning, no hot water in our shower. Tried multiple times between 7-8am on a Sunday. Husband has to have a freezing cold shower in the middle on winter. Then I discovered hot water was coming from sink tap and had to use a cup and sink water to shower. Then when my husband opened his towel off the rack a big chunk of hairball fell out of it. Which was disgusting. Breakfast and bed were the only saving grace. But I would not recommend staying here and will not stay here in the future.

Loved our stay here. Well appointed and very clean room and bathroom. Very friendly and helpful staff. Evening meal was room service from the restaurant and was great, morning was the buffet breakfast, which was also amazing- they had an awesome kids corner in this area which the kids loved! Taxi from the international terminal was $25 and it was also a very short walk to the Mascot train station which we used to go into the city the next day. We had a late flight so we were able to leave our luggage there and the staff were helpful in sightseeing recommendations and advice on transport. Highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel was so convenient for Sydney domestic terminal, and the shuttle bus was great - it is an additional charge but the timings worked out well for us and with all our luggage we didn't have to worry about ordering 2 taxis. On hotels.com it mentioned a child's playground, but when I asked where it was I was informed they don't have one on the site, but there is one a 5 minute walk away. Overall all, a great hotel.
