The FINCH

We love staying at the Finch. Easy walk to tasting rooms and all that downtown Walla Walla has to offer. They usually have a local featured winery with a tasting upon check-in, and Live-it coffee in the lobby to greet you in the morning. The wood burning fireplace greets you upon checking in as well which is extra nice now that the cold weather is back. There’s a small refrigerator in the room, but you’ll need to bring your own water. In the summer months there are lawn games and s’mores for the making if you bring the kids or are a kid at heart.

The check in and out was easy and friendly. Great great location! Sad we ended up missing spending time at the fireplace seating area as we hoped. It is such a cosy touch. The room was all we needed. One small downside was that the water at night takes a long time to heat up. For a couple with an infant, heating his milk with warm water is a must so this was a bit of a setback due to no microwave. But we managed. Clean place. Cute and hip. Comfortable bed and pillows and the shower/soap/lotion products were quality.

My wife and I decided to do a quick anniversary getaway to Walla Walla, and decided on giving The Finch a try. The modern and stylish decor was right up our alley, and the price was comparable to what we’d expect elsewhere. The hotel staff was very communicative throughout our stay, and always available via text message (including a contactless checkout, where you leave the keys in your room and check out via text - super handy), so that was much appreciated. The hotel is within walking distance of everything you could want to visit downtown: restaurants, wine bars, cute shops, and more are all within just a few blocks of the hotel. We parked our car when we checked in and didn’t get back in it until we left! The best part about this hotel? THE BEDS. I sometimes have a hard time sleeping on hotel beds, but these ones were so comfy that I messaged the staff when I checked out to ask the model and manufacturer because I wanted to buy one for my house! It was perfect. Slept like a baby! Can’t recommend The Finch enough. We’ll definitely be back!

This place is a great hidden gem. Front desk gives you a complimentary wine tasting at check-in. Rooms are neat and clean. Great for couples, maybe not the most comfortable for couples with kids.
