Montvale was amazing and the staff was wonderful. You could definitely tell it’s an older hotel because you could hear the dog and kids right next door, but the room and hotel itself more than make up for that. We We’re in town for Hoopfest and only issue was we were put in the overflow parking lot and we were told by front desk staff that we were allowed to park there the final day and the parking space issued us two citations within an hour for $78 a ticket. Called the Montvale and no one was available to help us on Sunday to take care of this. This was our other issue.

The staff was amazing we loved the hotel and our stay was great. The only complaint was the guests above us with kids jumping and running all over until late. We could hear every footstep. But what a beautiful place!

Overall we had a nice stay. The hotel is beautiful and a lot of fun. We like the hidden living room. The room was nice and we enjoyed our time. The gentleman at the desk was on the phone for at least five minutes. He did not acknowledge me at all, nor he did not say how long I would be waiting. A guy came in and interrupted his conversation and then left. I just waited. Once he was off the phone, he checked me in (his attitude was just blah). He did not independently explain how the keys worked. My family was confused why the elevator wasn't going anywhere. When the elevator doors opened, they told me the elevator was not working, that is when he explained how the keys worked (again, attitude was blah). I did ask him about places to eat, he stated that we can get discounts at two places using our keys. The lady checking us out was nice and more interactive.

This is an incredibly unique stay! The building is from 1899 and there is art everywhere. There are very classy touches like a lit fireplace, tea and coffee in the common area, and a history guide in the rooms. My kids and I found our stay to be comfortable and special.

Stayed here when going to a show at the Fox Theater. Went to dinner at the Gilded Unicorn downstairs. The room was gorgeous and surprisingly quiet. Super clean. Will definitely be back! Perfect getaway without the kids!

It was a wonderful stay. I do recommend at the hotel and replace the mattresses. My family and I stayed two nights last week and found that the mattresses were out worn and should be replaced.

The service was awesome and the hotel really cool… so much history. The area is a little sketchy… a lot of homeless and kids hanging out right around the corner.

When we got to the hotel, we were locked out because the desk clerk was not in the building. We had to park blocks away and I had to wait while the clerk ran bedding up to a room that didn’t have any sheets. The bathroom had gross garbage all over it and the tub was not cleaned. We couldn’t give the baby a bath because it was so dirty. We had planned on staying awhile to explore the city and I booked a big room because I wanted the baby to be able to play but I was so grossed out and didn’t want her to touch anything so we left early. We could also hear the couple upstairs getting it on all night long quite clearly. Definitely not a family hotel.
