Hotel Ruby

Called ahead before making the reservation to see if early check in was possible. Was told it should not be a problem, but there is an extra charge and the earliest we can check in is 12, which I was fine with paying since we were flying in early and had a wedding to go to at 2 and normal check in doesn’t start until 4. I book the hotel and call back to let them know this and am told it should not be a problem and they put a note on my reservation. We get there to check in and are told by the rude kid at the front desk that no rooms are available and early check in is not guaranteed. We had to get ready for a wedding in another hotel bathroom! The room itself was fine. You hear some street traffic but they have a bar open at night where you can get food which wasn’t bad. If you need to get in your room early, go somewhere else where it is more “guaranteed”. Luckily we didn’t pay the early check in fee so that’s the only plus.

Always an amazing stay, staff is always so friendly and always treat all guest and pets like family.

No place for a family, no place to park, nothing inviting about the location. It looks like a 70's discotheque on the outside.

This was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. Hookers up and down stairs all night. Screaming from the people next door that apparently live on site. Someone playing the same 8 bars on a saxophone practicing for hours EVERY day. No desk or table in room. Extremely small rooms and paper thin walls. I will NEVER stay here or any of their other properties again. Worst experience ever. Thank God I didnt bring my kids. I would have changed hotels immediately if I did.

The Hotel Ruby is conveniently located downtown, has some parking available on site, and a nice cocktail lounge attached if that's your thing. Unfortunately, "downtown" means near trains running all day and night. Our room on the 2nd floor was directly across from tracks (loud). There was no furniture where you would expect a table and chairs or at least a lounge chair--the only place to sit was on the bed. And the bed caved into the center so it was not very comfortable for a couple trying to relax (or sleep). If you want to hang out, there's no hotel lounge aside from the bar, so I would not recommend this hotel for families.

Was clean and comfortable I would recommend this to family and friends they just need to notify people that most of the parking is away from the hotel
