Room was cleaned but the bed mattress was terrible. Kept sliding off the bed. The front desk staff needs customer service training. There were kids running in and out behind the check in desk into the employees room. A staff employee was having an argument on her phone using the worst profanity words on her phone at the front door very unprofessional. Staff smoking at the entrance. Breakfast staff was not attentive to items that was missing on breakfast buffet. She was more concerned about eating her breakfast.

Myself and a few of my family members stayed at the Microtel in South Hill Virginia. Because it was my mom‘s home going the The rooms were very nice very well maintained. The staff was absolutely excellent very helpful, especially Tracey. The breakfast was very good. I will definitely stay there again.

I loved the property this is the third time me and my family have stayed here when we go to VA. The only issue I had was the fitness center, there was only one dumbbell in the fitness center.

We were just staying as an overnight for our long road trip. I was able to find deal on Expedia and had booked really late. They had my reservation upon arrival, checked me in and was an easy park and walk in. The front desk told me I could grab whatever was in the fridge so some milk for the kids and cold water was a nice touch after a long day. Room looked newly renovated great little setup with desk and closet space. Beds were comfy. Only thing I would complain about was the pillows were like couch pillows and there was no soap or little toiletries to wash up with.

We as a family enjoy staying at Microtel by Wyndham in South Hill Virginia. It is very convenient it is new and smells new still. Excellent continental breakfast, a very courteous and pleasant staff. However I did notice that there is a few things that happens in every bathroom in the entire world. That is missing grout and or caulking around tubs. The longer this goes without being addressed the more expensive and harder it will be to address. I suggest fixing it immediately. We stayed in room 400 it was awesome. However some of the grout is missing next to the tub and on the side of the tub some caulking needs to be done. The more water that gets in there the worst things will get.

I liked the handicap acessible room. It provided the space to accomodate my disabilty. I like the pool area but windows need to be able to open with screen or something that will of course protect the facilty from intruders, but outside air to ventilate the space also the pool deck is super slippery when wet need to add rubber water mats to accomdate grip on the floor we had witness 2 kid falls and adult slip and almost fall. One of the kids hit there head one slipped totally in the pool and had to be saved by an adult. All kids were fine. But the rubber mats would have prevented it. Or a less slippery pool deck. The food was good but add regular syrup for the waffles that sugar free syrup was funny tasting. The grits that were served were not done therefore (crunchy) the lobby are was nice too but there was no outdoor seating even tho they had cigarette stands when we came out to smoke we had to stand in front of the building it would look better if we could have been able to sit on a bench one on each side of the doors. Also add another luggage rack on the checking in was difficult having to find one because someone has it i there room. Other than that i enjoyed staying there with my family we all occupied 5 rooms. The lobby area accommodated our party perfect because of all the indoor seating.

The pool was out of service but that fact was nowhere to be found on Hotels.com and it's one of the reasons I chose this hotel. Upon checking in (very late check-in) the front desk clerk seemed to have trouble finding my reservation and just took my word for it that I paid (I did). What was odd is that he just handed me my keys. Didn't tell me the room number, the floor or make any attempt to direct us to the elevator. I thought that was odd and unprofessional. Our double queen Room was kind of small (even my kids noticed), but clean, and after a very long and hot drive, comfortable. Breakfast was very nice, with a fairly wide variety of fresh offerings, both hot and cold. In fact, the breakfast was my favorite part of our stay. Hotel Management: Please don't change the breakfast at all! Also, get that pool fixed. My kids were very disappointed.

Our family stayed here for 1 night on our trip back to FL from PA. The overall hotel itself is new and is very obvious on the inside and the outside. However, there were a few issues in our room that were not indicative of a brand new property. The door did not have a security lock, it was broken off. The bathroom had plaster and Sheetrock that was coming off by the tub. One of the cabinets had a protective guard that was coming off. The carpet by the window had sharp staples/nails sticking out that we stepped on. The reading light by one of the beds was very loose and falling off. The smoke detector had a bright green light that would flash every 30 seconds and was very bright in the dark. Overall the beds were comfortable, the AC worked well, and the room was clean and smelled nice. We paid $168 on a Friday night and compared to the other hotels in the area it was priced decent. We would stay here again, but we hope they will address these issues in the room.

The pool was really dirty, not clear at all, could not see the bottom. So I took my disappointed kiddo up for a bubble bath instead, the bath was clearly not clean., found hair and dirt in it. Although we booked nonsmoking room it was evidently smoked in. Usually don’t complain but given the exceptional reviews I was disappointed in the place.
