Sheraton Richmond Airport Hotel

While the hotel was much nicer than most on-property hotels, we had two issues that caused us to lower our rating. First, while hotels.com advertises that the hotel has free parking, it does not. I am not the first hotel to note this discrepancy in a review. While I pushed enough to get the $10, I was annoyed that the hotel staff did not take any ownership in the problem. (Note to hotels.com staff - why not fix this issue??) Second, the mattresses are on a metal platform that extends 3" wider than the mattress. Not only did we continually bump our shins into the platform (painful!) but if a small child stumbled and hit the edge of the platform (which are incredibly knife-sharp) they would surely be cut. These platforms are dangerously designed and I would not stay here again because of them.

Disappointing experience I have the general manager on camera around midnight refusing to check myself and my disabled family members including my elderly Mom in a wheelchair in . Expedia booked us a room that the Sheraton did not have available. And when I said I was going to complain about this the general manager said he was not going to check us in since I was going to complain. He said since you wanna complain, I’m not checking, y’all in.He demanded I call Expedia to ask for my money back and complain against them. He later did fix the poor and disappointing services/ reception and provided us with the type of room we had booked on Expedia and a little welcome bag the Sheraton hotel provides.He did say that the fault was with Expedia for letting us book and pay them for a room that they did not have available and told me I should complain to Expedia. But the initial interaction was with the face of the Sheraton & the initial reception was very disappointing and we were refused to check in / a stay at the hotel . And although he did attempt to fix things afterwards it doesn’t take away the first reception and refusal of service we received . The other front desk team members were friendly and professional, The hotel self is nicely decorated and close to the airport. I personally would not stay there again , nor would I recommend it to people with special needs, Based on the initial reception/ treatment we received.

Loved the room but unfortunately we were next to a “suite” and could hear everything…a child or 2 (?) in their room and parents turned on children's tv/music very loud, for hours, then when they finally fell asleep, the mom went in and played with chilled, then turned tv to back on at 11 pm! front desk person was so kind and helpful.
