Hyatt Place Richmond Airport

Just enough space for our family of four. The staff were super kind and helpful. Breakfast had a lot of variety.

I arrived during a huge storm and the wifi was out making it really hard to check people in. Ben was amazing and went the extra mile to make sure I, and my daughter who is in a wheelchair, got a room on the first floor that was handicap accessible. Since we couldn’t print out room keys yet, he walked us to our room and let us get settled while they waited for the Wi-Fi to come back on. He then personally brought us our room keys along with two free snacks and beverages for the inconvenience. To top it off the next morning he greeted us by first names and treated us just like family. He even offered to pick up our order from the restaurant next-door because it was raining. This level of customer service I have not seen in a decade.

Our checkin was great. We went to gather some things and upon getting off the elevator we saw 2 young kids running in the hallway figured maybe they were running to the elevator as there was only one working. But later on all you heard all night was kids running and the same for the morning bouncing balls and running around. It really made no sense and the lack of consideration for other guest was non existent.

Almost all is good with few minor exceptions 1> Beds are really not that great.. hard to get good night sleep especially 2 queen beds room 2> One of the elevator was out of service and second one got stuck... have to walk down from 7th floor to 1st floor for break fast... 3> Breakfast was ok.. especially not all items are kept during break fasts first it was waffle and then pan cakes and etc... My kids would love pan cakes but were kept way too late when theirs breakfast was done...

We stayed a few days earlier and it went very well. The location is 1/2 way between our destinations. This time not so well. This time we were charged a $10 parking fee which was not in listing, last time they gave us waters for all guests in our party but this time only 2, then our TV was not working and had to switch rooms in which I had to go to the desk to get the keys rather then them bringing it to us and nobody was there despite me saying I was coming down. Then I went and got snacks and it was $15 for cookies and a brownie in which I could have gotten at the gas station for $7. I asked them to charge it to the room and when I got up to the room they called and said they don’t have a credit card on file but I had given my card for the parking.The topper was the air wasn’t working in the room and by time I figured it out the kids were all asleep and I was not switching rooms again. Oh and listing says there are in room microwave and there are not.

I just wanted a place to safely celebrate the New Year with all of my children!

The room we were assigned had wallpaper bubbling up and it looked like if you pulled it, it would come off. There were several dirty handprints on the walls of the hotel room itself and our neighbors played music very loud around 11:30pm and allowed their children to run up and down the hallway screaming & laughing. I called the front desk about the neighbors and Ashley took care of it quickly. The next morning we asked to be moved to a quieter room (which it was) and it also had a dirty handprint on the wall. We will not be staying at this location again (near Busch Gardens, Virginia).

When we came into the hotel , the front desk staff chose to finish her side conversations while eating her food before coming to check us in . During the check in , she asked for a form of payment and charged the card before ever giving the total . When I asked what the total was , she blurted out the total and all charges associated with it . When we finally got up to the room , the room was not clean - the linen looked like it had been slept it and remade back up and the room had a huge leak and wet spot on the floor . They did change our room our , but the next time we went to the desk there was a guy who also was having side conversations and we asked for a blanket for our kids to sleep with on the pull out sofa and he told us to come back after 30 mins and this was at almost 11 pm … needless to say we gave our kids our blankets because we were all very tired . Moving on to the next day the house keeper saw us come back to our room and instead of trying to service our room , she asked us to place the towels outside the door . When we asked for the room to be services she gave us attitude and then said ok . She did clean the room , but barely . The next morning was our check out morning and when I woke up I woke up to a HUGE cockroach crawling on the wall above the tv .. I have videos of literally everything !!! I couldn’t believe it , but we will NEVER stay here again .

I’ve been coming to this Hyatt for ten years now whenever I bring my kids to visit my family in RVA. It fits all of our needs. Staff is amazing and our stays are consistent.
