We had two rooms and made a variety of special requests on this trip (early check in, late check out and extra pillows). This hotel made a great effort to accommodate all our requests and even comp'd us a breakfast buffet. The service level at breakfast was much better than at other Courtyards we have stayed at and the lounge was very nice. So, I wanted to give this hotel a shout out. My only picky complaint is the weird layout of the 1 bedroom suite. We were traveling with two kids and counting on using the pullout couch. Who at Marriott corporate decided that a curving twin sized sleeper couch that takes up lots of extra space but sleeps only one person was a good idea? I am sure it wasn't anybody at this hotel, so they can't be blamed. In my opinion Marriott should rethink the furniture. But management at this Courtyard went the extra mile for us on many things, so kudos to them for making us happy despite the weird rooms (another family member who was staying a the hotel after a surgery ended up in a room with a Jacuzzi next to his bed). He also received special attention and was made comfortable despite the weird room layout.

The elevators were out of service and you had to use the service/staff elevator. The elevator out of service notice wasn’t posted in a timely manner. Per the Expedia listing, the hotel was to have an indoor pool. The hotel has no pool. Had I known that I would have chosen another hotel for my family to stay in.

We booked on hotels.com last minute for a quick mother- daughter trip up to the DC area. We arrived around 5:30 and the check-in process was easy with courteous staff. We were quickly able to settle in and go to the adjoining building for a nice steakhouse dinner at Flemming's where the service and food were exceptional. We returned to a fair night's stay. I realize that, traveling with younger school age children, we turn in earlier than many, but there was a lot of people noise from other guests into the early morning hours. Nothing horrendous or lasting more than a few minutes each, but at least every 30-60 minutes until 0200 we heard others and were woken up. The beds were clean but the mattresses were not particularly comfortable. The thermostat seemed to have difficulty holding at 70 degrees (woke up to 73 degrees twice). The following morning, we had an early morning. We showered and headed out. Unfortunately, the shower drain did not drain well and we showered in several inches of water. This must be an ongoing problem as there was mold on the bottom of the shower curtain. We did inform the front desk on our way out, but at that point it was too late to make fix it for our stay. The front desk again was very kind and let us know that maintenance and housekeeping would be informed right away.

Stayed 4 days because of death in family. Couple with adult son, no good place to sit - the single large, very round chair was so deep the only comfortable way to sit was in the lotus position (erect back, ankles to opposite knee). TV took up 3/4 of top space of bureau, should have been hung on wall. Ventilation was loud. Digital temperature adjustment hard to figure out. The "Bistro" bar and quick food is an expensive joke.
