The property overall was nice. My family stayed for 3 nights. The only issue we had was with housekeeping when we asked them to change the bedsheets. She rolled her eyes at us and sucked her teeth. We only asked for it the first night after driving a long distance to get there. The breakfast options were good as well.

We enjoy staying at this hotel several times a year (our child attends VMI). Hotel is close to school, shopping for necessities and Main Street).

Had to go to desk twice for items not in room. Staff was accommodating. Also breakfast was okay but no waffles for our twin grandkids. Nice to have an indoor heated pool and hot tub included. Nice area with good restaurants nearby.

It was very clean, staff was friendly, very quiet and felt very safe. As a mom with two children with me in this trip, the kids safety was my priority. The breakfast was ok. Wish there was an action station where you could pour your own waffle and make it there rather than warm up an eggo waffle in the toaster oven. The eggs were less than desirable. The pool was comfy and clean, although all the lights were out as it was difficult to find the light switch to turn on so that my children could see while they were swimming.

My family stayed here for one night while passing through town and we were pleasantly surprised! We weren’t expecting much for such a good price, but the room was large and clean and the beds were comfortable. We didn’t use the pool but we did peek in there and wow, it was really nice! If we stayed longer we would have used it for sure. The free breakfast was also a lot better than expected.. hot sausage and scrambled eggs, as well as all of the standard cold breakfast items. I was very impressed!

The Wingate was clean and the staff had great customer service. It had a nice pool, perfect for kids. It was very close to Natural Bridge. Their price can't be beat with all that they deliver on. We had a great time here. Thank you to the staff for a great stay!

I liked we were closer to restaurants and Walmart and a gas station! But the room was not properly cleaned there was dirty bed sheets with hair in them and the tub in the bathroom had hair in it as well I was glad to wash the tub and to ask for clean sheets! I did strip all of the sheets and put them in a corner in hopes they will replace clean sheets for the next individual or family to get the room.

We were in the area for a family wedding and the hotel was a perfect location for us. It was sold out while we were there, and it was so peaceful and quiet.

Convenient location right off of I-64. Very friendly staff. Safe, quiet, and family friendly. Nice lobby with free grab and go breakfast items (cereal, cereal bars, oatmeal, etc.) and coffee. Ruby Tuesday's is right next door and Walmart is nearby. Washington and Lee University is 2 miles (5 minutes) away. Would definitely stay again.

Chose this hotel for the indoor pool and hot tub - which were both unavailable during our stay, and only cancellation of booking (at 10:30pm with 3 kids during holiday travel) was offered. Bathtub floor needed bleached. Signage in rooms was snarky and not overly welcoming (e.g. fees for items taken from room or smoking - policies which I agree with, but could have been stated more simply). The room was fine, pillows nice, breakfast offerings fantastic, particularly the omelets. But overall, the letdown was not overcome.
