Sleep Inn & Suites Virginia Horse Center

I would give them a 5 star rating except the $20 per pet per night for my dogs which was NOT stated in the “pet friendly” aspect of this hotel. I’m thinking it’s Hotels.com for not providing enough information about that policy. My first night was $60 and the second was $60 so we decided to leave early because of the complete lack of communication with the girls and hotels.com. $120 for a 2 night stay. Completely ridiculous and unacceptable. No one can travel with their pets anymore without being charged a fortune for the stay. I could assure you that my pets are a lot more behaved than most children. Terrible situation.

Very nice place for a family of 5. Plenty of room, hotel was clean and offered a good breakfast.

The front desk staff was very friendly. The grandkids enjoyed the pool before we got on the road the next day. We will stay again.

We were took a family trip to Lexington to see VMI and some family friends. The hotel is right up the road from the campus and very easy to get to get in and out of. We got in late Friday and checked out Sunday. Every one we met was friendly and helpful. The included hot breakfast was a big plus and certainly made the stay that much more pleasant.

The front desk staff was very helpful. My kids said the pool was too cold and I thought the hot tub was too hot, so we didn't spend as much time there as we hoped. The hotel was easy to find and the area felt safe.

This was the perfect spot for my sister and I to crash with our 3 kiddos after a long day at the Natural Bridge. The pool was refreshing, the complimentary hot chocolate and honeybuns were delicious and the beds were very comfortable. We’ll definitely stay here again!

Brief trip for a family event. Friendly staff and excellent service. My one and only complaint is that the invoice is confusing. It listed 2 payments and figuring out which one is correct is not clear at all. The desk staff made sure I understood which was the final and correct amount, but it’s an awkward system at best. This location is definitely my first pick anytime I’m in the area.

Staff was on the phone with family when lobby was busy. Room smelled bad. The bathroom vent fan was on when we entered the room and I assumed it was for the smell. Window did not open at all so we could not get any fresh air. We only slept there for one night. My partner got a yogurt for breakfast that was expired by two weeks. I expected a cleaner facility for the price and rating. I do not see how their rating is not lower.

We had a great experience other than the lady at the front desk. Kept our deposit because she said she smelled smoke. Wasn’t us. She told me to come smell the room and I said I mean okay but we didn’t have anything. We had a small child and didn’t do anything. Had to rush out because we are on a schedule and she said “could just get the sheriff to smell it and tell you what it smells like” when she checked the room there was another lady cleaning the room next to it with the door wide open. Wasn’t us but sure didn’t have time to argue. Not worth it and they are just looking for something to keep your deposit. We also didn’t have any shampoo, conditioner or towels in the room. Had to go back and ask. Room did not look like it had been cleaned at all. Not impressed with the stay at all.

The lady at check out was friendly, kind, efficient and explained all the rules. I spent the night there with my son because of a family death. She went out of her way to put us in rooms close together. The room was very clean, comfortable and has plenty of supplies. The comforter on the bed is beautiful but way too thick which makes it too hot to use
