Holiday Inn Express & Suites Harrisonburg University Area, an IHG Hotel

Check in went well and the man who checked us in was friendly and kind. We made it to our room which seemed clean and comfortable. Unfortunately that changed when we went to settle in for the night. The pull out bed in the couch had a dirty sheet on it that was stained with blood. The blood had soaked through to the mattress. The don’t desk came with clean sheets but there were no other rooms to go in. So we had to flip the mattress and put clean sheets on ourself. My kids were grossed out sleeping on that mattress. Other than that it went well.

This place is so nice. We stayed here since 2021. The rooms are clean and quiet. We stop here on the way to annual family reunion in Pa. The breakfast are great and coffee is soooo good.

Overall the property and room were new, nice, and clean. It may seem like a small thing, but the window had a blackout shade set in a track so no light got in from outside. That was nice. Biggest negative was the staff member at the desk when we checked in. We rented a suite with a pullout couch, which we needed for our kids. I put in our reservation note that we needed sheets for that bed. When we got there, she gave us sheets, but no blanket. We assumed one would be in the room. There wasn’t. My wife went down and asked for one, along with a couple more towels. She said she would look and bring one up. We waited an hour without hearing anything. I went back down and asked if she had found a comforter or blanket. She said she would grab a comforter. Problem solved. Except she came back and handed me a flat sheet. I said, “That’s not a comforter,” and she looked very confused. I asked for a blanket and she told me they were “all out”. The hotel was far from full and we could have just gotten a comforter from an unoccupied room, but she seemed more interested in eating with her boyfriend in the lobby than making an effort to help find a blanket for my kids. Also, somewhat minor, but we were planning to swim, but the pool was cloudy, unclean, and we decided not to. There are plenty of other options, so we will stay elsewhere next time.

Everything was absolutely fine. Staff was friendly upon check in and check out. Room was clean. Breakfast was your standard breakfast but it was only open until 9:30am…a little longer would’ve been nice. My daughter said the pool was cold and it was smaller than I expected. Only comfortable for a few families. Would stay again if needed as the price was right.

Hotel was very nice! Our family stayed there and drove over to the Massanutten water park. The hotel is located very close to restaurants and shopping. Very clean, good breakfast, nice staff.

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We were vacationing and went to the Massanutten waterpark! The hotel was clean, modern, and comfy. The staff was so friendly and the location of the hotel was in the middle of it all! You could walk to many stores and amazing restaurants!! Plus, the hotel breakfast was delicious with a variety of fresh options!!

The staff was very welcoming and friendly the hotel also has ample parking and a great breakfast buffet it also has a nice pool my children spent most of their time there!! also located in a great area plenty of food choices and a huge walmart. and other shopping choices
