Doubletree by Hilton Harrisonburg

The hotel was dirty. Ants, broken sinks, bathroom lift went out all day. Lights in the room didn’t work. The pool must not have been treated because there was an awful rancid smell. My kids didn’t even want to swim in it. Over all it looks like poor management and maintenance.

Check in was easy, the rooms are nice, no microwave though to heat up leftovers from dinners out. It was nice and close to many shopping choices, walmart, target, kohls and much more. So if you needed anything you just had to go across the street. What i didnt like was the price was more then what i was sent in my confirmation email. They couldnt put us in a joining rooms, there was a dead mouse found in the pool sitting area by my kids. No breakfast, they had some food but it would be added to you bill and i felt we were paying more then what we recieved. They had a restaurant also but the prices were ridiculously high. I dont understand if im paying this much for a room where we basically just slept and then have to pay more for breakfast. The service desk people were very nice though. Would i stay here again, maybe but probably not.

Unsupervised pool full of shrieking splashing children and their drunk parents. Weak coffee. Bathroom assembled backwards so I must squeeze past toilet to enter/exit the shower. Door to outside near room doesn't close or lock. We can hear every room around us and hallway.

Very nice hotel my kids enjoyed the pool

I particularly asked by calling the staff if the swimming pool was working or not. I confirmed while checking in as well. I was told yes. Drove out of the way to bring kids to this hotel for the pool. After checking in, there was a big note that the pool heater was not working. The staff didn’t mention that at all on other occasions. And we only realize after wasting our time and money.

Hotel over all was a 9.5 out of 10. Rooms were very clean and pool area is incredible for families. The hallway doors/door frames need a good cleaning and painting. Other than that, excellent accommodations and great service.

Great pool for the kids

We were impressed with the cleanliness which is often lacking in many hotels and which we really appreciate, especially with small kids. The only thing was the room had a slightly musty smell (just in our room, we didn’t notice it anywhere else.) But the sheets, pillows, bathroom, floor and surfaces were clean. We enjoyed the indoor pool (warm water, clean, nice open pool area with furniture, tv, shower, and fitness area) and complimentary (delicious) cookies upon check-in. Nice decor, clean ice machines. We were very pleased overall. Did not partake of the hotel breakfast as it cost extra, instead we found a great little diner in town for a comparable price.
