There was a cushion missing from the couch. The carpet was disgusting and left my kids socks black. The pillows were small and awful to sleep on. The bathroom, although seemed to maybe be updated, the shower was very worn, trim was horribly knicked up, missing trim, paint, caulking. Everything was dingy and old looking. I have spent far less to stay at nicer hotels. I expected much more from a Hilton property.

Lisa at the front desk was delightful! We have stayed here multiple times visiting family and it is pleasant, convenient, clean and safe. We had reservations at WoodSpring Suites, 147 Kempsville Rd., but that place was a complete dump even though it looks nice from the outside! I will not stay anywhere else from now on.

I want to start by saying all three employees I encountered were kind, knowledgeable, and professional. Mgr was "unavailable." The common areas (lobby, hallways, etc) were clean, if dated. There was an unpleasant smell, limited to the first floor. Room was dirty. Last minute booking due to a family emergency. I called the hotel to verify my sister could check in without me as she was arriving first. I called a second time to verify reservation and add my sister's name. I finally arrive for check-in at 2am - sister and step-father in tow - to find water leaking from the ceiling above the check-in counter and a sign stating water will be intermittent due to pipe work. The sign is dated March 4-5; it is now the 6th. Our room was dirty; my socks stuck to both the bathroom tile and the carpet in the room. A few minutes later my step-father tells me there is no hot water. I talk to the AM counter agent, explaining the situation - emergency, parent died, 2am, non-refundable, dirty room, no hot H20 - was told they probably couldn't refund the room for my step-father because we knew about the leak/sign but the manager authorized a discount once I contacted Expedia. Contact Expedia who gave me $25 OneKey credit, claiming hotel would not answer their phone. Hilton gave me a small refund for step-father's room. Parent death aside, the state of the hotel and lack of reasonable compensation is unacceptable. Past experience with Hilton = this is a one-off. Expedia = do better.

I traveled from Northern Maryland to VA for a grandsons birthday party. The hotel was way to find. The room was great. The experience was ok. I arrived at 715 pm once I entered the hotel the receptionist was not present I waited for about 7 minutes and she finally showed up on her phone in slippers, not professional at all. She checked me in and assigned my room. Went to my room and it was already occupied. Went back to the desk and she said she does not know how that happened. She was going to put me in the room beside that room but I asked if I could be in a room not texted to children. She said most of the rooms had children in it. She put me on a different floor after all the rooms are filled. Once I got to the second floor it smelled straight up of pool water. The rest was very good. The breakfast was incredibly delicious. We will return again.

The room was not what I would have expected for what we paid for 600.00 for 2 nights....the service was horrible! It seemed more like we were a nuisance to the staff than guests! There was apparently a pool birthday party, which I was not aware was allowed in a hotel setting. There were adults who seemed to be intoxicated allowing their children to be extremely loud and using their pool toys in the pool which included water squirters. This deterred anyone with small children to get in the pool because they were being very aggressive! Our room had broken handles on cabinets in kitchenette, the shower barely worked, rug was sticky and disgusting and paint was also peeling off the doors! On Sunday morning at breakfast the coffee had run out and when it was requested for new coffee to be made , the request was denied! We definitlely will be steering clear of this place in the future!!

The staff and breakfast were great. Even the room was fairly clean and comfortable. The beds weren’t the best, there appear to be a large stain on the wallpaper which was creepy, there was bright green mold in the swimming pool, the fitness room looks like it had been ransacked by a child, the hot tub was literally peeling the blue paint as it floated up into our faces, not to mention the disgusting Band-Aid and Q-tip left behind.

At the request of the hotel, our room was switched from a studio with 2 beds and pull out couch to a set of connecting rooms. This was a few hours before we got there. However, when we arrived, our reservation showed as unpaid and it took 25 minutes to get a manager on the phone to correct the issue. The staff person was very friendly and apologetic but it was a problem to wait so long with little kids after a 6 hour drive. Then one of the rooms had stained bedding that had to be replaced. It was all fixed in the end but could have been avoided.
