TownePlace Suites by Marriott San Antonio Northwest

The room we were given had a horrible odor of possibly curry. The hotel is super old and the bathroom grout is dirty, with moldy corners on the floor by the tub, the sofa bed was dirty and old, we had it reserved for 5 people and there were only 2 towels in the room. I had to call reception 3 times, first because the keys to the room would not work, and we were arriving exhausted and cold after had spent all day at Sea World and getting wet in rides, so the keys not working was a huge inconvenience. Someone came up with another key. The moment we walked into the room the strong odor hit us and I called reception asking for a different room. We were told they were fully booked. Then a couple of the kids got in the shower and we noticed there were not enough towels, so I called reception again and they told me to go down to pick them up (again,we were exhausted and cold so I asked if they could bring it into our room, but she said NO, I'm alone here). So I got really upset and told her we were completeley dissatisfied and I asked if they had a sister company hotel to send us to. The lady said there was a Holiday Inn across the street, but not a suster company. I complained again and she said, go to a different hotel and I will give you a full refund, and she hung up on me! We packed our stuff back up, checked out, and left. We are SO HAPPY WE LEFT because for $10 more we spent the night at Holiday Inn Express which was extremely clean, comfortable and with excellent breakfast!

Older hotel, needs updating, saw many bugs in the room. When we were eating breakfast there was a huge cockroach crawling on the floor close to us. Water stains on the ceiling of our room. No central A/C, only a/c is by the window, and it took forever to cool down. Shampoo dispenser was out when we arrived, family of 5, and no sheets for the fold out couch were in the room, and not enough towels. Stains on the duvet covers on the beds, stains on the couch. Just felt dirty!

My allergies were terrible in this room Because it smelled like straight baby powder. There blood stains in the shower. Our air conditioner never got cold. I did like how I felt safe. Friendly staff.

I would definitely stay here again... and we did! The staff is friendly and accommodating. Our room was spacious and comfortable for our family of five! The pool was nice and clean and not too deep either.

Booked room with king bed and pull out bed. Listed as accommodations for family of 4. But pull out bed was tiny- barely a twin and mattress was filthy- urine stain in one corner and brown stain in other corner so we could not sleep on it and all had to sleep in the king bed. When I checked for bed bugs in mattress I found a large stain which I assume was bodily fluids which was pretty gross. I was disappointed with the stay especially for the price we paid which was higher than normal.

The staff was friendly, but I was very disappointed that upon checking in for a 5 night stay, I was told that daily cleaning service was not available. I usually stay in VRBO's but decided not to on this trip because I didn't want to spend my vacation cleaning. We had to put our towels in the hallway each morning, if we wanted clean towels. Only 1 time did they refill the towels in our room, the rest of the time, they took our dirty towels, but we had to go to the front desk each time to get clean towels. Same with trash, we had to put our trash out in the hallway each morning, if we wanted our trash taken. I was very disappointed. Each night after a day of touring the city, we would get back to our room and each night our room keys wouldn't work, and we would have to head back to the front desk for new room keys. I was traveling by myself with 3 kids and found this to be another small inconvenience.

Great room very clean, we as a family we enjoy our staying great breakfast. We can't wait to stay again on this summer or on our next spring break.

Parking is bad! Also we reserve a suite we were two adults two kids they gave me one king bed, when I went to the office to ask for another room he was rude but he did gave us a small room with a king side bed and sofa bed in the same room.

Our reserved room was no longer available. The only one left did not have beds for our family, so my son had to sleep on the floor. After waiting for over an hour and being told a couple of times that our extra sheets would be delivered, my husband had to go search for someone to get sheets while my children were waiting to go to bed. The king bed was rock hard and so uncomfortable. Where are the competent employees!??

Staying at this hotel was terrible!! The room was dirty, stained sheets, the shower flooded with water as soon as you start. There is barely enough soap and lotion for one person even though we were two. Feels like as they are trying to save on you during all your stay. In fairness I must say we started our staying at a bad starting point. We made a human mistake, we ordered this hotel instead of the same name hotel at the Marriott in downtown San Antonio. They didnt care less and it was shameful!! They did not show a bit of understanding about our situation. It is clear our mistake, but I would expect from branded as a Marriott to find a bit of understanding and help us in a situation where all our family is just 20 minutes away. And help us move there without paying two nights fare. The second hotel (also a Marriott) in downtown agreed the matter and had room to give us the same price. In conclusion, started badly, ends in a nightmare. not recommended!!
