Swimming pool was closed, Next door dog was barking whole night, most of things are pretty old , sofa was wear and tear. Hotes.com show image of MainStay Suites with Marriott but its NOT. My kids was very upset with no pool

The property was worn and not clean in places. There were holes in the sofa, rotten and mouldy seals around the bath. We booked as a group of 4, two adults and two children but there was only enough cutlery, plates, and glasses for two people. We requested more at reception but the person at the desk didn’t know how to retrieve more. Said she’d ask her manager and they’d bring us some, however the additional items never arrived. The hob didn’t work properly, and one of the tv’s didn’t work. The building also had an odd musty smell. There was a chair and loads of leaves and debris in the pool when we arrived so my daughters missed out on a swim. Having said that the beds were comfy enough, and our particular bedrooms were in a quiet spot so we slept okay. The hotel is in a good location to get to Space Centre Houston, which is only a five minute drive and the main reason we we’re visiting.

THE HOTEL CANCELLED MY RESERVATION. I arrived at the hotel at 1am with two children in tow to find out that the hotel had cancelled my reservation and not informed me. The hotel was of course full and so I had make a last minute reservation in the middle of the night for another hotel. The lady at the front desk was rather uesless and could not tell me why or when my reservation had been cancelled.

Room was comfortable. We now know where to stay when we take a family vacation. Joining rooms is a big plus.

During check-in, we were told that the elevator was out of service and that our room was on the third floor. They did offer to cancel our reservation at no charge, but the inconvenience of searching for a new hotel did not seem practical at the time. We need to keep moving our bodies, but there is no joy when the kids take off to see the hotel room with one bag and never return. The air conditioner filter was several months past the time for replacing and cleaning. There was an issue with a smoke alarm in another room that started before 10 PM, beeping continuously, resulting in barking dogs somewhere on the same floor and no sleep. We had been told several times that the problem would be resolved soon. It was after midnight before the fire department arrived that the issue was resolved. The following morning, as we began preparing for check-out, the fire alarm for the building went off while a maintenance worker was in the fire closet on our floor. There was no communication from the front desk prior to, during the alarm or during checkout, apologizing for the inconvenience or assuring guests that there was not a fire.

Fire alarm in our room kept going off on its own randomly, there was an old frozen Pepsi left in the freezer as well as a dirty used washed cloth hanging off the shower rod. When I called the front desk in regards to the fire alarm she just stated they had been having issues and she was the only person working suggested I just remove the batteries.in regards to this issues with the room not being clean all the way nothing was done about it either. We left to grab some food and returned a few minutes later the fire department was there. The New shift young lady at the front desk offered to switch our rooms we gathered all our stuff and went to the office just to find out they didn’t have anymore two bedrooms left. She ended up unplugging all the smoke alarms out of every room and we just had to stay in the same room. It was not a pleasing stay at all I would not recommend AT ALL! only because I had been driving for 12 hours straight and with younger children we just dealt with it in hopes of getting just a few hours of much needed sleep.

The propert was a bit run down. The floor in our kitchen area was cracked. One night stand was missing a handle. The shower head was full of lime scale. We were told our room woukd be ckeaned every other day. After 3 days, i had to call to have our room serviced. The breakfast was good, but people were letting their children run rampant and maje messes. The pool area was dirty. People were eating there and there was food everywhere. The outside trashcans were over flowing. We will not be stayingvat tjis property again. Had higher expectations from Marriott.

From the time we checked in- not impressed. Concierge did not greet you. Pool was closed with a paper sign that said “closed for cleaning”. I asked when the pool would be open as this was one of the main reasons I booked this hotel after a long day of traveling with kiddos. The concierge said not until Monday- it was Saturday. Went to room which was in another building which smelled like marijuana. Room was in horrible need of repair, missing linens from pull out couch bed. Walked over to get them from concierge and asked for a pillow for the bed to which the concierge stated she couldn’t give me another one so my kids ended up sharing a pillow. Breakfast was a sad sad story and they were out of plates to serve it on. The dining room had tall tables and short chairs… my kids couldn’t even eat at the table because of this. Overall awful experience.

This was a great place for our family. It was clean and comfortable.
