Fairfield Inn & Suites Amarillo West/Medical Center

Showed up, no one at the front desk for awhile. Then she came out of a parked car in the parking lot after awhile. Woke up the next morning and my vehicle windows had been busted out. The facility doesn’t have cameras. Walked around the parking lot and saw lots of broken glass throughout. So I assume there’s been a string of break-ins at this location. Probably not the safest spot for a family stay.

Felt great for dog families.

We were told we would have a crib for our youngest child and when we arrived they told us there was no crib available because they were all broken. That is totally unacceptable.

The hotel rooms are good with new carpet with upgraded looks on bed and furniture. Bathroom are little outdated but nothing to complain. Hot breakfast is good- standard breakfast items, the front desk staffs are cool and nice. We had good stay with kids and family. Restaurant and gas station are near by.

It was good to okey. The rooms were clean. Swimming pool and SPA were under maintenance. We chose this over another for the pool due to kids, so it was a disappointment. I would hope hotels would advertise these things on the site. Breakfast was okey -- we are vegetarian and there wasn't even regular bread. Others may like it. We had good experience with Fairfield in Chicago that catered to vegetarian / vegan but this does not even cut it. The front desk was nice, although they did not carry lotion !! If little things do not bother you, it was a nice stay.

I called to see what time the jacuzzi was open until and they said till 10pm, and adults only till midnight which was awesome because my bf is admittedly a bit of a jerk about kids being kids. When we walked by the jacuzzi after checking in only two hours later there was a sign that said it was not operating. We specifically chose this hotel vs a cheaper one just for the jacuzzi after a long road trip. That was very frustrating. Elevator was a little smokey smelling. The room seemed clean enough and not smelly but there was a dried but clearly used washcloth hanging in the shower which made us question the thoroughness of cleaning. Breakfast was limited but acceptable with eggs, ham, biscuits and gravy for hot options. We didn’t end up eating it so I can’t attest to quality. Milk and yogurt was available in the breakfast area even when we came in late which was nice for us as we’re weirdos who like milk before bed n had we been hungry the snack would have been nice. Overall not bad but would probably not come again.
