Residence Inn Marriott Abilene

The hotel has suites with full kitchens. Perfect for longer stays. The stuco on the side of the building is in desperate needbof a power washing. Lots of AC drip marks and slimy residue. The pool had algie on the steps and waterfall stones. Worst of all the AC in our room (118) would never get below 75! No mater how low you set the temp. Made for very hot and uncomfortable nights.The matress on the couch pull out bed was thin and you can feel every spring in it. My kid tried sleeping on it and decided sleeping on the couch pillows was a little better.

After a day of travel we wanted to check in and get some rest. I am so glad I’ve grown accustomed to checking the room first and then unpacking the car bc the first room had a water leak from the ceiling. We got another room within 10 minutes. My only dislikes were that My kids found medicine in the bathroom drawer and breakfast seemed unorganized. There were dirty tables, flies and overflowing trash cans. It looked like there was supposed to be a lot of options but the staff wasn’t restocking at a consistent pace.

Perfect for traveling with pets and family.

The food was good for the continental breakfast. Room was clean, a little cramped, but otherwise ok. Went to the pool in the morning for the kids and found a live rat in the pool. Got it out with a plastic cake container that was left outside from a party the previous day. Staff took action immediately to make sure that the pool was cleaned movung forward. Seems understaffed for the size of property. Absolutely not the fault of the staff, its an outside pool.

I appreciate that there was a small basketball court. the kids loved it!

We were in town to visit a college. We had our teenage child with us. This is why we got a bed with a pull out couch. When we went to put the couch into “bed mode” we noticed something dark in color through the plastic mattress cover. We unzipped the cover and saw what appeared to be a large very dark stain resembling blood or blood that had tried to be cleaned. It was really gross. Since it was so late, We made a pallet on the floor with the air mattress and bedding that we brought from home. This experience pretty much sealed it, we won’t be back at this Marriott. When we told the front desk personnel, it was just, “ok. We’ll look into it”. You had to know this stain was there and that it would be appalling to most people. I can’t believe you would just cover it up. Do better, Marriott.

This hotel was perfect for our family and our 5 day rodeo stay. Everything was great from the breakfast to the perfect temp of the pool, the kind staff and it was very clean and in a safe location. Rooms were stocked with everything we needed. Nice having the Basketball Court. Really enjoyed our stay here, and will definitely be back! If I had any slight complaint it was the wi-fi wasn’t great. Otherwise we loved our stay here.

Stayed in 1 bedroom suite with hubbie and 2 little ones. Enough space. King bed was not comfy and the sheets kept coming off. Bottom of tub seemed grungy. Otherwise, great experience. Breakfast was great and had a different selection each day. Staff was friendly and efficient and helpful. Mostly clean except, again, the bottom of the tub. Kitchen was well-stocked with dishes, etc. Kids had a great time in pool which seemed really clean. There were outside tables to enjoy the pool and fountains while eating breakfast.

Staff for check in was awesome. 2nd night front desk lady was not as nice. It was clean. Pillows were terrible and there are clearly some foundational issues as you could feel the unevenness of the floors in the halls and bathroom tiles on the floor were all uneven and cracked. Overall a good stay. Was a little pricey for the hotel BUT it was family weekend at the local university.
