Holiday Inn Express And Suites, an IHG Hotel

First room we checked into smelled like someone has been smoking in it for the last 20 years. Went back down to front desk to get a different room and had to wait 20 mins because the front desk person (Astyr) was on the phone with a complaint from a former guest. Finally, 20 mins standing there later, Astyr offered to spray our room with air freshener!! I had to sign a paper saying they would charge me $250 if my room was smoked in, which it had been. I have allergies and so do my kids, so this spraying air freshener was a ridiculous solution. I had to get louder to get a new room. The place was older, but sufficient. Breakfast was good.

This was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I chose this hotel because it had good reviews, but boy was i disappointed. When we checked in we were told the pool would be closed. My daughter was in tears because she was so excited about swimming in the pool. The room I booked was non refundable so we had no choice & the cost was expensive. The elevator kept getting “stuck” so we used the stairs most of the time. There was a dead bug in our room, the hallway light to our room didn’t work. The kids wanted it on for a nightlight, but didn’t have a choice. There was a leak from the ceiling by the breakfast buffet. I was expecting so much more for how much we paid. We won’t be staying there again!
