Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mt. Pleasant, an IHG Hotel

We have a large family so it’s difficult to find accommodating rooms. Room 333 was AMAZING! Two full separate bedrooms living space foyer and bathroom. The AC kept the room nice and cool as well. The pool is outside and in a beautiful setting. Breakfast wasn’t great but it was something.

Absolutely loved our stay. The room was very clean and the location was perfect to get to the beach and downtown easily. My husband went on a morning run across the bridge twice, which was a super nice experience for him, and not too far at all. Breakfast was crowded, but good. The pool is a little bit smaller than shown on the photos, and not heated, which was a little cold visiting in April, but the kids still had fun.

The staff was very friendly. We liked how they told us to have a good day when we left and welcomed us back when we returned. The kids enjoyed the cookies a few days while we were there. Everything was clean and in good working order.

On initial arriving, checkin lady was welcoming and friendly. When we proceeded to our room, the hallway was muggy and smelled of old/dirty carpet. The room was muggy as well. The room was clean but bathroom had old hair on the floor. The housekeeping did make beds, take out trash, replaced towels and freshened the room daily. They do not change sheets, probably have to request I assume. At checkout, a different lady was at the desk and was rather rude. Clearly does not possess customer service skills or any interest in helping a customer beyond her role at the desk. Overall stay was ok, location was in close proximity to the Ravenel bridge pier and a nice park for kids. There are several nice restaurants, grocery stores, and it’s 17min from Isle of Palms beach. Quick access to freeway to get downtown Charleston. There are several other hotels near by, I like the area, but wouldn’t stay at this location again.

A perfect hotel for family trip and very proper spot to go around Charleston. The breakfast was awesome!

Great rooms, pleasant staff, great location with easy access to Charleston and quiet street. Only problem was we would leave early morning and return around noon and room not yet made up. If we spent an hour there to rest , let a child unwind, etc. , it would never get done, they just left clean towels outside door. They happened three days, even though we left again around 1:30 each day for rest of day. I would still stay there again but try to work something out about that next time.

When we got into the room and checked out the bathroom I noticed that the inside of the toilet was stained brown as if someone did not flush properly and also the shower curtain had traces of mold. The AC unit by the window was taped down with gray tape and a sign saying controlled by wall unit which I thought was really on the tacky side. Although the beds are extremely comfortable and we stayed in a junior suite with 4 children and 2 adults and were very comfortable with the amount of space.The hotel is in a great location for shopoing and dining and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The snack machine sucks. They really need to upgrade, it doesn't take anything but cash when no one really carries cash anymore and your only options are chips and crackers. Breakfast wasnt bad except those hard and thin pancakes which my sweet tooth 7 year old didn't even like, and they could use more fruits than just bananas and red apples which I really wanted fruits and was let down by my options, a green apple would have been nice, or maybe an orange.... Other than that we decided to make the best of it because of the great deal that we received on travelocity.
