My Place Hotel - Greenville, SC

I wish I could review the hotel; we never got to stay there. Despite my calling earlier in the day to say we would need a late check in ("no problem"), I received a call at MIDNIGHT saying they no longer had a room for us. They overbooked. But never fear they had moved us to another hotel w/in 5 miles. You can imagine how unhappy I was as my wife was on her way to the hotel, already exhausted. Still 2 nights w/ 2 beds? Yes, they said. Is the place any good? Definitely, they said. My wife gets to the new location and they know nothing about this whole transfer. They also do not have 2 bed rooms, completing screwing up our family plans for the weekend. And the hotel was not the worst I've stayed in, but not far from it. My wife and daughter felt nervous the entire time. I had to be the one to bring up some sort of compensation for this mistreatment and 10% off is all they did. Handled terribly all around, so this company gets zero stars from me.

Once we arrived, we're told as we can see the breakfast, gym and another area is under construction with more to come for the rooms. Our room was a suite nice and homey with a 2 burner stove, fridge, sink, microwave, table & 2 chair. So perfect for an extended stay with children. The bathroom was remolded and clean. My only suggestion would be for housekeeping to turn on the air condition before we get into the room. At the end of the day, the price was right (Thurs-Sat) and our beds were clean and comfy.

Poor kid Andrew was doing everything! He was restocking the vending area, he had to run up and check on our room and he checked us in. Good working kid! Poor management! Construction at the hotel was inconvenient and the hotel felt very sketchy. Poor water pressure in shower and just not an overall clean feeling.

2 day stay to visit family. Quiet stay, most of tbe construction had stop for the weekend so it was quiet. Room nice and clean

Great place to stay for family visit

Had a 5 hr drive then sat in the heat all day at my sons soccer games. Came to check in hungry and tired at at 730 pm upon arrival and check in I was told there was no rooms and I needed to drive 5 miles (11 mins) to another hotel where I was moved to. When I got to new hotel I was upset as you can imagine and was told a completely different story as to why I was moved. I had booked a double queen room but there wasn’t any left here so I had a sofa bed and a queen bed, this also pissed me off because my 17 yr old needed a good night sleep for his game the next morning (soccer games were college showcases) and I have back problems so the more comfortable beds were needed. It took the man checking us in at least 25 mins to get us checked in and our keys. Got to the room and low and behold the keys didn’t work!!!!! Went back down stairs and they were checking in a family diverted here from My Place as well they were even more frustrated than I was. Again the man took over 30 mins to check them in. I left my son to change keys so I could run and grab food before places started to close. Finally at 930 pm I actually made it into the room here at Mainstay-Greenville Airport and it was disappointing AC was loud as hell and carpet was tattered. Also when they were checking in the other family we all heard the checkin guy tell a caller one room was left first person here got will get it last person left out and hung up. Lobby was nice looking though.
