I wish I was in Charleston longer to enjoy the Emeline for more than one night. I have already told friends and family to visit and stay here. All of the staff was tremendous. The hotel is stunning down to every design detail. It’s in an ideal area for exploring and I want to come back as soon as possible.

This was a beautiful property in easy walking distance to all of the sights in Charleston. We got a suite and while the rooms were small (typical in a city hotel), it was nice to be able to spread out with a family of four. The quirky amenities like record players in the rooms were a special treat for the kids and the rooms, especially the spacious bathroom, were an exceptionally clean and comfortable. Would highly recommend a stay here.

Booked property 1 month in advance they called me when I was 1 hr away driving 12 hours with a toddler to tell me they relocated me to another hotel that was not equivalent to this hotel paid more for this hotel then the hotel they put me in. didnt have an option to go to another hotel since it was such short notice. Honestly should be compensated for such an inconvenience and this is why I would never choose the emiline and will never recommend.

So Jimmy met us when we arrived. It was pouring down rain but let me tell you he made sure we all stayed dry including our 2 furbabies. He set the tone for our stay and nothing disappointed us after that

Overall, a good two-night stay. Nothing extremely special given the $470 per night rate. Conveniently located in downtown near the City Market. Very busy area on the weekends. Pleasant grounds and comfortable room. Had breakfast in the restaurant once. Food was ok. Hostess seemed put out that we asked to be seated at another table that wasnt next to energetic toddlers and had high chairs stored next to it. Sorry, not sorry. The strangest thing here was the hetero-normative, borderline homophobic check-in when we arrived. The front desk agent (African native with a heavy accent) insisted not once, twice, three, but four times how he felt we would be more comfortable in a room with two beds, not the single king bed originally requested. Very awkward to the point of having to forcefully request our room reservation remain the same as originally requested. WAKE UP EMELINE!! Gay couples stay at your hotel. This shouldnt shock your front desk staff.

We went for a family get-together. The hotel location was perfect. Our room was comfortable, nicely decorated, king size bed, nice bathroom. The employees were friendly and helpful. We spent time in the bar area at night and it was quite lively. Would stay here again if in the area.
