Church Street Inn, Ascend Hotel Collection

If you want a full-home experience in the heart of the French Quarter, this is the place for you! For just a few more bucks than a hotel room, I had a full kitchen, living room, and a SECOND STORY with a master bedroom suite and walk-in closet. The staff told me that this was one of the smaller suites as well! It was more space than I frankly knew what to do with. I was surrounded by families who liked to make some noise, but kids will be kids. Their private courtyard would be amazing if not 90 degrees every day, and their office area was a nice space to hunker down when I had to work after checking out. I just enjoyed the modern amenities in their old-style suites. My only concern was around security. Because they were short-staffed during my visit, I waited 15 minutes to check in and upon seeing my paperwork and keys on an open counter, I simply grabbed them and checked myself in! I left a note to call me when they got back. They didn't seem concerned that I did this. So do with this what you will...I did not lower my rating, but I did keep all locks activated when in the suite as a precaution.

My kids and I loved staying here. It was decorated Charleston style and was very comfortable with a garden and fountain. Staff was super helpful. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Very convenient to tour and see Charleston- can walk to everything. Staff was courteous and helpful. Was not expect each unit to have stairs and a small kitchen. Would be great for a family!

Perfect duplex suite with kitchenette Great for a family or for longer stays. Good Location. Quiet. Minimal hotel amenities but hotel room fully stocked. Casual atmosphere at desk but very friendly and accommodating.

Church St Inn is perfectl situated overlooking the famous French Market, the heart of commerce and tourism in Charleston. The building interior/room itself were very nice, but we had hoped an early check-in would be possible and wound up waiting at least an hour in the less than remarkable reception room because the cleanimg staff had just begun an hourlong break when we arrived. All and all the service was adequate but we had recently evperienced a similarly priced and starred hotel with much more in the wayof amenities, so the sparseness of hospitality here stood in stark contrast. Parking is close by but off site. I did love having a balcony overlooking the market, but I wish there had been chairs on it. The overhead ceiling fan in the bedroom was broken on a particularly hot and humid night. Did not bother me (I brought my own fan) but a family member got too hot durning the night.
