Holiday Inn Express & Suites New Cumberland, an IHG Hotel

Checkin was smooth. TV went out didnt have anyone to fix it because it was after 8 pm. A lot of kids in rhe hotel were running up and down the hallways and down the stairs near our room

Only thing had an issue with was pool heater broken had kids expecting to get on the water and couldn’t one of main reasons we picked this hotel . All else great service everyone nice and everything comfortable and clean

Room was clean, hotel was in good repair and nicely decorated for the holidays. Stayed w the grandkids and they loved the pool. Large 3 ft area was good for the toddlers. Breakfast staff (Nicole) went all out to make sure the kids felt at home. Good value for the price but great feeling for the family

Offered a payment through Apple Pay, but still had to use a credit card for deposit. The room was very clean….and quiet until about 11pm at night when 2 huge families came off the elevator screaming and laughing, walk by us up a couple times. But the worst was breakfast. Eggs were watery, there was food all over the floor, including milk and cereal that wasn’t cleaned up, and they were out of everything by 9am. Some machines out of order, and we ended up leaving in disgust.

Whole it looked nice in pictures, it wasn’t what it seemed upon entering. The lobby floors were dirty and the check in clerk didn’t once make eye contact when checking in. Disappointed that there were no brochures in the lobby with local attractions or things to do nearby. The hallway carpets were stained and looked like they hadn’t been vacuumed in a week. There was all kinds of paper shreds and other odds and ends on the floor. The room was nice and the beds were comfortable. There were only three bath towels provided which wasn’t great for us since were a family of four. Housekeeping is only offered every five days and only by request. You gave to bring your used towels down to the lobby and request new ones. Found it very odd that there was no alarm clock in the room. The breakfast is from 6:00 - 10:00 but by 8:00 there were only a few egg rounds left and one piece of bacon. We had to go out to eat. Something was leaking from the ceiling into the pool so we didn’t use that either. Not what we expected from a Holiday Inn. If you’re just looking for a good night’s sleep this may be for you. If you’re looking forward to a swim and breakfast or a hotel that makes you feel welcome and relaxed this is not the property for you.

I asked for an upper floor which wasn't available because they clean from ground up. i had a family of elephants above me, couldnt sleep and everytime someone flushed a toilet it sounded like the walls were paper thin and i heard everything. as far as cleanliness, there were long hairs on the vanity, mirror and in shower. the shower curtain was torn, and the second bed looked remade. very unhappy experience

Breakfast options were very minimal both mornings. The common areas and halls definitely need a good cleaning. There were a lot of kids in the hotel for an apparent soccer tournament. Perhaps that is the reason the hotel was is such need of a good cleaning. We have stayed here before and never felt it was unclean. We may try a different location next time we are in the area. Disappointing

Im not one to usually write reviews but with this experience I feel the need to do it for others. My family vacation here was completely ruined by the experience we had here we booked for 4 days checked in pretty late the first night everyone showered and went to bed the next day we had breakfast and headed out to Hershey Park we came back that night around 11pm entered our room and noticed roaches next to the microwave I squished it and out came another one and I did the same to it as well, my wife immediately went down to the front desk to let them know what was going on they staff there apologized and offer to move us to different room but the only one available was a single bed and were a family of 4 so we definitely needed a double bed. We declined and was told there really isn't anything else they can do until the manager gets in, around 9 am we tried to get some sleep but I just couldn't I kept watch of my wife and 2 little kids as they were sleeping. Around 2 am out came more roaches much bigger this time we took vides of everything and called the front desk again to let them know and also let them know that we will be checking out and request a full refund. In the morning we spoke to the manager and he apologized and approved the refund we checked out and left, everything in the hotel is old and outdated not up to the holiday inn standard. Staff bein helpful was the only positive thing here. The owners of this hotel needs to get these issues fixed
