Candlewood Suites Bensalem - Philadelphia Area, an IHG Hotel

Went to visit family and brought furbaby for the 1st time. I had call a few days prior to ensure they were pet friendly. The man who answered stated yes and was advised there was a $75 fee for 1-3 night stay which I had expected. Upon check in the paperwork states 50lbs or under thankfully my dog us under 50lbs, this was never stated on the website, hotels.com or when I called the hotel directly. Overall, nice place to stay, quiet, clean and has plenty of room with kitchen. This was our 3rd time staying at this hotel. Front desk staff didnt see to happy, could be more attentive and friendly.

The review said the bbq while watching their child swim there was no pool. My air conditioner made noise they did fix it I ended up leaving early it just wasn’t a pleasant experience for me

The manager made the decision to give our room away and offered a downgraded room for the same price that did not hold my family so after driving 4 hours to the hotel, we were stranded trying to find somewhere for my family of 4 to sleep for two nights. They also offered to give us someone else’s room. Who runs a business like that? We also overheard others having the same problem. Also, I was never notified. They decided to do it right before check in. Just awful. The whole situation actually brought me to tears because I felt so mistreated and they obviously did not care where my family would sleep for the night and I am also 9 months pregnant. Apparently they do it often. I had even paid ahead of time and that didn’t make a difference either. They just kept giving away peoples rooms until they were “sold out” I guess. We tried calling so many people behind the company for help, but received none. However, we were very well taken care of by Expedia and their customer service. They stayed on the phone with us and searched themselves for somewhere for us to stay that was also accommodating for our family size and situation. They even covered the differences on our behalf and we were blessed with an even better hotel stay. I cannot thank Expedia enough!

Nice, comfortable stay! Bed was comfy, room was clean. People above us was a little noisy, banging sounded like children jumping and bumping. It would have been great to have a paper channel guide to help navigate channels. Other than that the stay was great! Hotel really close to casino, mall and lots of restaurants.

Spent a single night with my husband and two kids. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The hotel staff was friendly, though our only interaction was check in and check out. I wish their pet fee wasn’t so high, otherwise I would stay more often since I travel with my dog frequently.
