Shearwater Inn

My husband and I stayed here for our babymoon! The staff was pleasant; however, we probably wouldn't consider staying here again unless it was during the off season (winter, fall or spring maybe). We were woken up on Saturday morning to the delivery trucks across the way for Kyllo's as well as that following night due to drunk people hanging out in the parking lot of Kyllo's. Those two things have nothing to do with the hotel itself other than location and the fact that all hotels with a balcony face the parking lot of Kyllo's. For us, we would've chosen to stay somewhere a little more quiet for a couple hundred more.

The View was bad ass, what was not good, is that is hotel is situated between the main road and another moderately busy road. While trying to relax and enjoy the ocean you will hear traffic, car alarms and other general commotion. We were not traveling with kids which tends to make you hyper dickish to other people's kids. While relaxing in the amazing jet tub, I could hear someone's toddler crying and running back and fourth down the hall way. Throughout our stay. I probably should have checked to see if it was family friendly and made arrangements to not be by kids. On the flip side of that I was eagerly awaiting one of the drunken trio to fall off the balcony as they hung off of it shouting at the passerbys trying to just make it back to the cars from Kyillo's. We had stayed here one other time on the 5th floor and it was a much better experience than the 3rd floor. The staff is always really friendly, check in is easy. We use Expedia. There is easy beach access, and loads of things with in walking distances. I probably won't book here again just because I'm a light sleeper and the traffic is a " no" for me, my Husband love it , even though he is afraid of heights. Lol

This has been a favorite for a long time. However we were on the second floor. Above us was a family group. They were very noisy. Stomping until 11 pm And awake and stomped at 5 am. My wife did not get a good sleep for the night. We will look elsewhere next time

The interior and exterior was beautiful! Very easy, private parking. Took my dog, first time staying anywhere other than home, he was very comfortable and at ease. Great dog area and easy access. Remember to clean up after your pets! It’s a privilege that we are able to take our fur babies to such a wonderful and clean hotel so let’s not ruin that! All the little touches they do for dogs is very thoughtful! The staff starting with front desk, maintenance crew, staff for keeping rooms stocked to staff that delivered delicious breakfast daily were amazing! I ended up extending my stay 2 additional days, did not want to leave! I had read previous reviews and I had hoped they were true. It was all exactly the case! I highly recommend this hotel! They exceeded my expectations and I will be back!

This hotel is smack dab in the middle of a busy area of the beach, where parking for a few different hotels and a restaurant converge, as well as directly adjacent to a beach access point. That means it is not necessarily a quiet and peaceful stay. That said, it is SO worth it and actually pretty awesome. The amenities and amazing service (like breakfast to your room) plus the convenience make it worthwhile and even fun. Loved being able to park easily and to walk across the lot to an astounding restaurant. And while the ocean views are not unobstructed, the sea is right there, and it’s so much fun to see families and others enjoying it. I usually stay in much more secluded spots but I really loved this place. It is beautifully appointed, comfortable and top notch in every way. I would recommend. Extra shout outs to the wonderful staff.
