Holiday Inn Portland West - Hillsboro, an IHG Hotel

Wonderful and friendly staff. Breakfast is pricey for what you get, but kids eat free. My yogurt was expired and the bread products were extremely smelly like they are actively molding. I tried a bagel and bread since nothing appeared visually moldy, but they tasted like the mold smell. The staff claimed they just brought the bread out today, so it might be that the box itself was not properly cleaned before? I’m not sure, but honestly I’ve worked in food service for many years and understand how the expired yogurt and bread smell could potentially happen when you’re doing mass breakfasts every day, especially if the week has been slow or staff is short. I did not ask for a refund or try to make a scene, just wanted to make the staff aware in case a less understanding guest makes a complaint. Our room was spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable. Despite the breakfast, we fully enjoyed ourselves and would absolutely stay again. It is also in an amazingly convenient location and very quiet despite the major road nearby.

It was amazing the clerk greeted me and my family with a smile was very helpful with every question I had. The bartender was amazing there as well very good customer service there's a place you can sit with your kids just out side of the bar and the bartender saw we had are child and came over and put cartoons on for her and sat there and got to know us. Over all I will be staying at this hotel again and will recommend it to everyone that asks about a good hotel. The pool was warm very clean as well

They put us in a room that was too small for our family. We had a family for 4 and they put us with one king bed. We asked for a different room and got a king with a twin sofa bed. Still small, and not what we booked, but we made it work. The bathroom door was see-though. We woke up anytime someone turned the light on in the bathroom during the night. The plug-ins and usb ports didn't work for charging our phones on the nightstand. After both our room cards stopped working, they offered to move us to a bigger room. We had the same problem with the bathroom door and usb/plug-ins in the new room.

Had a great time with the grandkids, the pool/hot tub was awesome and we managed to have it to ourselves both days! Didn't eat meals there but visited the "market" a couple times and came away with what we needed. Front desk folks were friendly, our one bedroom w/ king bed was HUGE but it was listed as 4 person occupancy however two folks couldn't have slept on the pull out bed as it was basically a love seat and three people in the king bed might have been a little too cozy! Would definitely stay there again!

I melted in the bed! It was so soft & comfortable & I slept like a baby! Thank you for a relaxing comfortable experience.

Mr. Alice at the front desk was beyond professional and very helpful. Overall staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel's location felt safe for me and my family. Although, cleanness could use a little help, and breakfast could include non-dairy products like almond or oat milk, or end a little later; for example, instead of 9:30 am, how about 10:30 am? My overall experience was very good!

At check in, a couple of disturbing things took place. First of all, I was told there would be a parking fee if I had a car (which I did). When I informed them that my reservation details made no mention of a parking fee, I was told it was a new policy. When I mentioned their remote location and spacious parking lot (inquiring about the necessity of the fee), the two clerks communicated to me that they didn't understand the need or purpose of the fee either and many customers were complaining about the fee. I then told them I was a light sleeper and requested a room on the top floor. I was told they were booked solid and had nothing available on the top floor. After arriving in my room and trying to rest and relax, there was an unusual amount of noise coming through my rooms ceiling from the room above. I tried to nap unsuccessfully. After 2 hours of non-stop noise (that sounded like the Olympic track trials taking place above me), I called the front desk to inform them of the problem. The clerk ( who was a different person than the ones I checked in with) told me he would talk to the people. He told me they had a lot of kids in the hotel for a local sporting event. I told him I had been through this at other hotels before and it never works (talking to the other customer). I informed him that I didn't not want to go through a multi-hour ordeal trying to resolve the problem. At this point, he told me he had a room available on the top floor that I could move to. This

This was hands down the worst of all my stays at Holiday Inn express. There was a teenage birthday party happening and doors were slamming and running up and down stairs and the hall way until after 3 am. I went to front desk to complain and the teenage girls were running around buying snacks at 2 am. I asked for them to be quiet and the staff didn’t do anything with my complaints. I chose to stay here for ease as I could have stayed with family.

My stay was wonderful! The walls were a little thin so I could hear children running around the pool occassionally, but nothing too loud that disturbed my sleep! Great quality, very clean and felt very safe!
