I arrived a few minutes before 9pm to check in. My husband and I were exhausted after working all day and driving for 3 hours with our two children and were anxiously awaiting going to sleep. There was no one at the front desk, but there was a sign saying they would be right back and to call a number for assistance if I didn't want to wait. I waited a few minutes and when no one arrived I called. No one answered and no voicemail picked up. Over the next 10 minutes I called 7 times and no one answered. I wandered around calling out asking if anyone was there. I rang the bell on the counter repeatedly. Approximately 15 minutes after I arrived a woman finally arrived, claiming she was helping fix a washing machine but smelling strongly of cigarettes. I said I was beginning to wonder if anyone was working and was getting ready to leave and try to find a different hotel after waiting 15 minutes. She got defensive and rude and said she was only gone for 7 minutes and needed to help fix the washer due to being short staffed. My phone clearly shows I called for over 10 minutes and she reeked of cigarettes. Obviously, she was on a smoke break. I would have appreciated an apology instead of being rude and making excuses for her absence. I have traveled extensively around the world and never had an experience like this one. Great breakfast, quiet, walkable. Exhaust fans in the bathroom would be nice.

It is not what is used to be. The breakfast bag is so very different from the breakfast buffet. Only packaged muffins and granola bars--Pop tarts (children food). that are store bought. It would be better to not offer breakfast as part of the rate. Room was run down and needs a refresh. The sofa pull out needs replacement ---as it must be 40+ years old. The location in relationship to the theatre is the ONLY reason I would consider coming back. They used to have an afternoon tea/coffee/biscuits---no effort to adjust to pandemic conditions Plus---NO response from Hotel.com regarding a change. Book on your own without Hotels.com.

This is a very tired and dated hotel which didn't feel clean at all - the bedding made my skin crawl. We had two connecting rooms and the keys didn't work for my kids' room. I tried 3 times to get keys that would unlock the door and eventually gave up and had my kids use the connecting door - but far from ideal from a safety point of view. The lights in their room didn't work. I felt I needed to carry my phone in the elevator in case it broke down. Breakfast (in a bag) was moldy. The receptionist was friendly but the standard of this Inn is very low and I would not recommend it or stay there again. Also, some other people mentioned that the hotel had a creepy feel and I totally agree, hard to explain why, but I did not like this place or feel comfortable there.
