We stayed for two nights, one in the main building and one in Car 13. Both were extremely clean and nice, but the exhaust fan in the train car shorted out and filled our room with a horrible smell that caused my family and me to feel nauseous. The fire alarm went off, the police came and then the fire company. We opened the door of our unit for more than 1/2 hour and my wife and daughter sat in our car with the heat on. We were eventually told we could return to the unit with no fear of having to breathe noxious air. We returned to bed and got back to sleep. All that being said, the manager NEVER checked on our welfare. I actually called him and told him what had happened, so he was well aware of what had transpired. While we loved the inn and the uniqueness of the train car, I honestly don't know that I would stay there again due to the lack of concern for our welfare by management.

Adorable small inn run by wonderful Mennonite family. Even though the area around the inn seemed a little industrial it was fairly quiet - there was one refrigerated semi- trailer on the lot behind the inn that ran off and on all the time 😕. But other than that it was great! Loved the huge front porch covered in rocking chairs and tables - even one large set of checkers! Guests were always sitting and talking or reading and the atmosphere was very friendly and homey. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and despite what Expedia says there is a front desk just not 24 hours. We were also treated to a tour of the train cars and caboose that are available as room options- definitely will be coming back to stay in the old caboose!!

Literally one of the best and cleanest hotels I have been to. Dont be mad at the nice people who run this place just because you didnt read the details of the hotel. Thats on YOU. People need to stop being so nit picky. Its a HOTEL its gonna have thin walls duh. Its right in town, 3min from a dollar general and 15 from Berlin. Amazingly cheap too. If noones at the front desk thats because theyre busting their ass to clean the place too. Dont be a baby and just give them a call and 5 minutes. Definitely will stay again.
