La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Bismarck

We booked this very last minute as our vehicle had broken down while passing through. We showed up with nothing and the nice lady checking us in gave us planets of soap and toothbrushes, toothpaste. We appreciated the little things as we had nothing. The room was adequate for our family of 5. We breakfast was good as well.

The toilet seat was coming loose in my room 308. I did mention it on check out and the counter gal immediately wrote it down...so hopefully maintenance was just as quick repairing it. Both check in gal and check out gal were friendly and efficient! Nice hot tub and the kids looked like they were having a good time in both pools.

The hotel was very clean, the pool area for kids was great

Clean (but bathrooms need work in regard to staining and the sealing that’s been eaten away by time), quiet, and very family friendly including dog members. One thing that bothered me was the condition of the pull out couches - they’re terrible for anyone over 60lbs - but fine for children on the slender/smaller size (my daughter is 10 and rather slender/skinny so it didn’t bother her and she’s about 60lbs, but any adult or teen would have major aches and pains the next day as it’s at most 3in. thick and very worn).

Some of the recent reviews about dirty rooms, cold showers and pool issues had me concerned, but I was pleasantly surprised. Our room was clean and the a/c worked well without being obnoxiously loud like some places I’ve stayed. The shower water was plenty warm and stayed that way for everyone’s shower. The pool doesn’t have the slide any longer, but I had read that on another review and expected as much. The temp of the pool was fine and my kids enjoyed it. I was bummed that the hot tub was having issues and this blocked off, but that happens and was only a slight inconvenience. The staff at the front desk were very nice and attentive and the hallways seemed pretty clean to me. Overall it was perfect for our 1 night stay and all the concerns that I had from recent reviews were non-issues.

My family and I have stayed here 3 times so far and it has been great every time. My kids love the pool and I love the cleanliness of the hotel. This is our go to hotel when we are in Bismarck.

The stay was awful and a matter I’ll take up with La Quinta corporate (Wyndham) and Hotels.com. What we did see were several people being turned away WITH a reservation, rooms overbooked and 2 different families with a key to the same room. It took 3 requests and 14 hours to get Housekeeping to remove a dirty diaper under a bed. There is a very serious lack of training at this hotel as each employee had different information for us. Our son’s family of 6 stayed in our room (2 queen beds) and my husband and I were forced to try to find a last minute room in Bismarck over Memorial weekend. Most everything was sold out and we ended up finding a room for over $800 for 4 nights. This was not in our plans :-(. Anyway, we’ll never stay in this hotel again and depending on the response I receive from Wyndham and Expedia, we’ll never step foot in a La Quinta again. What a circus.

Great time seeing family and friend. Will never stay in this hotel again

On the expedia website it said the room I was selecting slept 6, I called the hotel to confirm and they said it did. When we were checked in the room only had 2 queen ( more like full size) beds and 1 very dirty chair. Our room had no toilet paper or bar soap and when I asked staff for some they informed me they were out and waiting to get stuff in and had to go buy toilet paper from the store. They did end up finding me 2 rolls of tp. The hallway floor, our room floor and the floor in the pool had dirt all over. The chairs in the lobby and the breakfast room were also dirty. The toaster didn't work and the breakfast attendant blamed customers for slamming it down to hard. The pictures of the property show the pool area has a slide (which it does not) and a little fountain area for kids (which the front desk attendant said they couldn't turn on because it blows the breaker). Front desk attendant was vacumming the enterance and instead of moving or stopping to let guests inside we stood outside until he finished. Would likely never stay at this propert again or recommend it to others.

Good. They let us use a conference room for an impromptu family gathering. Good quiet hours.
