Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Wilson, NC

We enjoyed our stay here. The building & rooms were very clean. The room itself was very quiet & clean. The pool area was open till 11pm for kids, which worked out perfectly for us. We did have to bring down some towels from our room to use because the supplied ones were out. That wasn't really a huge issue....that normally happens because we go to the pool late at night. I would definitely recommend staying her.

We weren't even able to check in because we "live too close" to the hotel. We were having to stay the night somewhere because our AC broke and we have 3 kids including a newborn baby. They wouldn't make an exception and didn't care that we were paying customers. Absolutely ridiculous and infuriating. Now we're running around town to try and find somewhere different at 9:15 at night with 3 kids in tow, well past their bedtime

This property looks very nice & clean on the outside but that might be the only area that is like that. Upon checking into the room everything seemed fine. I have a family of 5 which is why I went for the two queen beds and a pull out sofa. The pull out sofa had no sheet on it and you could tell they didn’t clean under the sofa in a while because there was so much dirt. The next morning I opened the curtain to get some sunlight and there were so many bugs & roaches on the windowsill. The good thing is I didn’t see any critters crawling while I was there! Other things that I did not enjoy was the fact that every time I asked for new towels there weren’t much available. I informed I needed 5 towels and they would only have 2/3 towels. The kicker that really upset me was the elevator breaking down on my 2nd night there & my room was on the top floor! Imagine walking up 4 flights with a toddler and checking out with luggage & a toddler! It would have been nice if they would have done something for those inconvenienced on the top floor. Oh and the soda machine didn’t dispense any change on the 4th floor. Overall, the rooms weren’t that bad but it could be better if it was properly cleaned. Last but not least breakfast was ok except for the eggs & turkey sausage.

I reserved a room they Expedia for one night, and got my confirmation by text and email. When I presented my confirmation to the desk clerk, he looked in the computer and said they did not have the confirmation. They only had a single bed room available, which wouldn’t do for us and our two grandchildren. Plus it was more expensive. He told me there was nothing he could do, and I needed to take the problem up with Expedia. Thankfully, Expedia got us booked is a much nicer Comfort Suites across the street at the same rate I originally booked. Will not be staying at any Country Inn anywhere if this is how they train their staff!

The entire place smelled like marijuana, it was disgusting. I had my kids with me so that was fun to explains that horrible & nauseating smell. The pull out couch was awful. The mattress had no padding & the metal was hard & poking through. The overall room cleanliness was questionable & I had to wipe surfaces down. It was a really disappointing stay & we won’t be making this same mistake again.

The door to the adjoining room did not lock. I would have been concerned if I didn’t have family in that room. My husband did not have any hot water during his shower.

Front desk staff varied from very nice to a little surly. There were a lot of ants around the indoor pool. I informed staff who said they would take care of it but the next day there were just as many. My kids and I got bitten both days. The hot breakfast was terrible.

We slept very little the night we were there. There was a group of children running the hallway and constantly using machine outside our door. The desk knew about the group of kids running at and said they would stop it, needless to say at 1:44 a.m. they were still at it. They AC in the room was so loud . It needed serve, an alarm beep kept going off in a corner of the room had no idea what that was. The lights in bath would flicker when turning on both switches ( it strobed until the one switch was turned off.) reported all to office . Left this hotel very tired. It was a very unrestful night. NOT HAPPY.

Our check-in was met with extreme rudeness by the desk clerk. I literally was ready to lose the $133 I had already paid and go somewhere else. Later that day, another desk clerk was polite and greeted me and asked if I needed anything as I was passing through the lobby. I explained to her the way I and the customer behind me were spoken to at check in and she was so sincere and apologized profusely. She assured me that she would make the general manager aware. She stated that she was shocked it had happened and that in no way did their hotel want anyone to ever be treated in that manner. She assured me she would look into it and apologized once more. The hotel was in good condition, clean, and our room was very accommodating. We travel their to visit family a few times a year and will consider staying again and hopefully will have a much friendlier check in process the next time.
