Surf Side Hotel

Did not honor my request for a 3rd or 4 th floor room. Happy hour snacks were always empty. Huge tear in the bedspread in our families room. They found alot of trash under their bed. The sangria they have had during happy hour in the past has been replaced w cheap red and white wine. The breakfast was good. They have beach chairs to use as well as beach towels which was nice. Not sure we will pay the premium price again for a basic room. We have stayed there many years in a row and really enjoyed it but this year seemed like a step down. Pool area was clean reception area was clean. Lots of dirt in the corners of the bathroom in the room but hallway bathrooms were clean. It’s an expensive place to stay and it’s been our favorite up until this year.

This was a last minute booking, the extra amenities were very nice. Social hour, cookies for our kids.. beach chairs and pool towels. Steps from the beach.. and indoor and outdoor pools! Would stay again

We really enjoyed staying at the Surf Side Hotel. Staff were very friendly, the breakfast was excellent, wine social was good and the kids loved the 8pm cookies! The pools were clean, beach access was wonderful, and having beach chairs to take when needed was great!

Great breakfast! Our family enjoyed popcorn in the lobby, wine and cheese social hour and nightly cookies. The mini fridge in the room had a separate freezer which allowed us to freeze and refreeze the icepacks for our beach coolers.

Great botique property generally oriented towards families. They have a pet friendly section too which can be difficult to find. Complimentary breakfast was very good and the dining room staff very pleasant and professional. Great front beach access and close to many area restaurants and attractions.

We spent a long Veterans Day weekend with the grandchildren at the Surf Side Hotel. It was perfect for us. We wanted to tour the lighthouses and the Northern Outer Banks area. The indoor pool was a must have and the kids enjoyed it very much. We were upgraded to a one-bedroom condo. The extra space and ability to cook in was wonderful. Also enjoyed the happy hour with wine. There were a few maintenance issues that we reported to the front desk; they did not detract from our stay, but I could not give a 5 star because of those items.

Very friendly staff! Comfortable, family atmosphere! Met someone on the housekeeping staff that had worked at the hotel since the 1980's. To me that says a lot about the property and its management.

Really good for family getaways.
