The Ballantyne, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Charlotte

I was amazed by the hospitality. I felt welcomed from the moment I walked into the lobby. I am telling friends and family about the decor, staff professionalism. My room was VERY clean . The food was excellent. I highly recommend the Ballantyne .

This hotel is gorgeous! Went for a family get together weekend and we all had a great time. The indoor pool was not available but we didn't care, the outside pool was so nice! Very large and easy to get in and out of. The staff here is second to none! I highly recommend it and we will definitely stay there again!

The hotel is beautiful and clean! It's so pretty on the inside but they are doing a lot of construction all around the hotel so the views are not pretty right now. The staff was very polite and helpful. The hotel is not walkable to shops but a short drive so you are kind of isolated unless you have a car. The indoor pool was very nice with 3 jacuzzis inside. Big pool outside was very nice too. The rooms pretty and very clean. We definitely enjoyed our stay but with kids it's not as kid friendly.

Heavy smell of gas in the Lobby! For 4 days!3 days without housekeeping service! My wife had to go downstairs at 11pm in pigiama for toilet paper, and after we tip since day one almost 160 dollars all around the property. The carpet in the room all full of dirty spot and wasn’t vacuumed whe we arrived we find dirty papers in the floor! The indoor pool water was very cold! We booked cause the nice view and amenities but they are doing a major renovation and they didn’t bother to let us know so the view from our room was a construction war zone and very loud with big machinery! Has a former director at the Peninsula hotel in Beverly Hills and Wynn in Las Vegas I was shocked how a 5 stars hotel could have been so Poorly managed! The GM maybe is in permanent vacation or something like it?! We really felt no presence of good managment. The only person that was helpful and on top of her game was Jasmine My family live in Charlotte and for sure next time we will go to the Ritz Carlton or to another hotel but for sure we will never suggest to nobody this hotel and we will never come back there!

Doesn’t appeared to kid friendly

Deteriorated facilities and terrible management. The jacuzzi was lukewarm to the point that there were families with babies in diaper using the jacuzzi. Also de jets didn't work properly. The indoor pool was too cold, almost unstable, thus why all the families were cramped in the jacuzzi. The resistance pools weren't working. The sauna had trash inside which we saw our entire stay. Wait for breakfast at the restaurant was 45 mins to an hour. The coffee station was always lacking cups or something. The manager, Mara, was rude, no point on trying to explain anything to her. Couldn't use spa because it's booked for weeks. Housekeeping only came after we called multiple times. Tons of construction outside. Won't recommend this place.

For the most part this was a nice hotel, but they made it clear they don't like people booking through Hotels.com. We had paid extra for a double queen room on a high floor, and they put us in a King room on the 1st floor as soon as they saw the Hotels.com reservation. They were rude when we said we would like the room we paid for as we have 2 older kids with us and since there is no sofa beds, there was no way the 4 of us could sleep in one King bed. They acted very put out by this and reluctantly moved us to a double still on the 2st floor. If it wasn't for the outstanding breakfast, I would rate this a 2 star hotel at best.
