The room was clean and the staff was friendly. But, if you're claustrophobic, go somewhere else. The room is tiny and my family of four couldn't relax. We had to sit out by the pool to just play a hand of cards.

The hotel was great. Breakfast was very good. The kids enjoyed the pool. However, it sits on a hillside and it was awkward getting to it.

Check in was easy, and the desk clerk was very friendly. Although there were only a couple of parking spaces left in a hard to navigate parking lot. The next day, mid day, I was asked to vacate the room so that they could steam clean the carpets. I was in the middle of a work day and had to finish my meeting in my car still attached to the wifi. When I asked the front desk attendant what I was supposed to do, she first replied with telling me that they put notices out days ago, and I let her know that I checked in late the night before and was in town for a family emergency and had to take meetings for the rest of the day. Also, I was absolutely not notified. She did eventually back down and say that I could stay and that they would just have to clean it another time, but at this point I had already had my meeting interrupted, so I gave up and left. Not to mention, I didn’t want to sleep in a wet room with wet carpets. Ew.

Chris was great and helped make check-in easy. He offered suggestions for family-friendly activities and good spots for breakfast to stop at on our way out of town in the morning. The only frustration about our stay was the limited parking. We had to circle around a couple times to find a place, and then squeeze in a tight parking spot! We may just have caught it on a bad night but seemed like several people were double parked and left only one spot on our side of the hotel open!

The Clarion is super close to the Biltmore and is the reason we chose it. My family was only staying one night on our way to the beach. Pros: clean, close to Biltmore, friendly staff, breakfast was decent Cons: highway was very noisy, the bathroom was TINY. Overall if you’re just looking for an inexpensive, clean hotel, that’s close to Biltmore then this is a fine choice.

My stay was related to a family member being critically ill and she passed away the morning after I got there. I arrived back at the hotel in need of checking out early. I was 20 minutes over the check out time of 11:00 and was required to pay for the second day. I think this was very unkind and will never stay at this hotel again.
