An excellent large room with a very nice kitchen and bathroom. The linens were outstanding. Also nice to have such a large couch that could be converted into a queen-sized bed. Located near some interesting restaurants. I do wish that the hotel had dedicated pet-free rooms, as one of my family members has animal allergies. But, she didn't seem to have a reaction, so perhaps the cleaning crew does a very good job.

We were passing through on a trip to Canada. We met with family who lived in the area. Our room was comfortable and the staff were nice.

I have never stayed at a hotel where the staff are so friendly. This goes beyond helpful and professional: they truly approach their jobs as a labor of love. From the dining room staff --the man who saw that everyone had drinks (at a buffet breakfast!) and the woman who cooks the food for the breakfasts and the social --BBQ meals!!-- and decorates for the holidays, to the front desk people. . . these folks are so impressive. I noticed, too, that several people were staying there for longer terms (getting houses rebuilt, etc.). One of these guests I met in the elevator and she told me she was treated like family. I saw these interactions and felt so grateful for the warmth I observed in all of these interactions. Of course, the food was good, the beds were comfy, the rooms were pleasant, and the renovations will be beautiful when complete. Those things are important but also more common in hotel accommodations. The people here make this an extraordinary hotel. I would return in a heartbeat!

We chose this hotel to be in vicinity of family we were visiting in Rochester. Had used same hotel last year too. Clean, nicely renovated accommodations and very friendly staff. Very nice breakfast spread. A special selection was done for Father’s Day. Very nice & welcoming. Convenient kitchenette with good sized refrigerator and the utensils for someone having an extended stay.

I am sorry to give such a clean and beautiful hotel a bad review. But our problems were pretty significant. We reserved a suite that claimed to sleep 4, (one full bed and one sofa bed) and found the sofa bed was only a partial one and could only sleep one. With two teen children this was difficult. When we asked about the problem, we were told that the rooms were "standard" and that is was clearly a problem of Expedia. The next problem was sanitation. We used the toiled normally and it immediately backed up. When we went downstairs we were given a plunger. We had to use that plunger each time we used the toilet if we wanted to it flush appropriately. We spoke to two front desk staff, one of which came upstairs with extra blankets at which time I asked him to look at the sleeper sofa and ask if he thought there was room for two people to sleep on it. He didn't answer the question. We left without further comment to the front desk as each person seemed completely uninterested in taking responsibility for the problems.

Beautiful location. Ben was very nice. However while waiting for our dinner to be delivered, we had a little visitor. A cute little mouse strolled across the counter in the kitchen. Ben was very responsive and quickly moved us. However the new room was smaller and Ben was unable to give us a price break due to reservations being made through Expedia. Disappointing. Breakfast was good but all I could think about was that little mouse and his family.

The property is on the Genesee River, so you have great views. It is walking distance to the University of Rochester, and a 10 minute drive to RIT. It was less than a 1/2 hour drive to Lake Ontario.
I stayed at the hotel in the summer. The common spaces were lovely and well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Because my family gets excited when they hear this: you can make your own waffles at breakfast.
The suites were a nice size, but 4 adults would be cramped, The suites were also very outdated. The paint on our bathroom wall was a peach / beige /cream mix; add that to the texture and it felt dirty (although quite clean). My closet door fell on me (I was not injured beyond a scrap and a bruise) as the hardware holding it in place was not put in correctly over-use caused the thread in the screws to go bare. It was taken care of the next day, but the staff did not apologize for the inconvenience of getting hit with a door, or the fact that it took up a huge space in the bedroom for 18 hours. I got the feeling this happens often.
Basically, the units need a little TLC.
Overall, I would recommend staying at this hotel, but be aware of the flaws/

This is a relatively new hotel in an area that is trying to clean itself up. I lived in that area for decades and would walk through "Staybridge" to go to the public pool with my cousins back when it was an empty lot.
Subsequently, trust me when I tell you, the area is rough. I wouldn't recommend going for a late night stroll, and definitely make certain your vehicle is locked (which it should be anyways, it's not the 1920s anymore).
WIth that one word of caution, I pretty highly recommend Staybridge. The staff is generally helpful to very helpful. The location CAN'T be beat for anyone attending events on UofR campus. Same for Genesee Park and Strong Memeorial Hospital.
It's even more than reasonably close to my alma mater RIT (go tigers!) although there are closer. Same with the airport and Henrietta (shopping district-ish).
End of day, the clearest way I can put it is this is the preferred hotel when I take My Family to see my family. But they don't go walking after dark.
