Excellent location. The 1BR suite with a roll away bed works great for a family of 3 or 4. The room was a little tired and evidently will be completely overhauled soon! Unfortunately they were mid way through a major renovation with construction all over the place. Wish I had been made aware of that.

We checked in to our 1-bedroom suite and our 16-month-old daughter discovered dirty, clipped toenails all over the carpet in the main living room left by the previous guest. Obviously the room was never vacuumed between the previous guest’s checkout and our family’s check-in. We had pre-paid for a 5-night stay - paying approximately $630 per night. Despite the fact that our planned 5-night reservation was non-refundable, we checked out the very next morning and moved across town to a clean hotel. When I explained why we were checking out after being at The Benjamin less than 16 hours, the Benjamin representative offered no apologies - instead he just replied “Okay.” I also requested a call from the property manager to discuss the matter. To date, I have yet to receive a courtesy call from management at The Benjamin as requested. It seems quite obvious that room cleanliness and guest satisfaction are not concerns shared by either Benjamin Hotel staff or management. I will never be staying at another Royal Sonesta property in the future and I certainly plan to share my horrible Benjamin Hotel experience with anyone I know traveling to NYC to make sure they choose a different hotel. There are far too many other good hotel choices in NYC to waste your money at this hostel.

Misleading information about the hotel: I chose this hotel over many other for location, Spa, Pool, Parking and restaurant. The only amenity that was actually available is the parking which turned out to not have in and out privileges. They did not charge my car like they said they would. That made the commute home difficult. That was frustrating.
The room size was great for my family needs. The bed linens on the sofa bed had to be changed twice due to stains already on the sheets. All of the linens looked worn. There was dust on the shelves, top of the fridge, and top of the cabinets. The wallpaper in the unit was peeling back around the windows. The overall décor looked basic and worn. I expected a lot more for $700 a night.

This hotel is a great location for walking distance or a Lyft/Uber to Times Square, Grand Central, Rockefeller Plaza. The staff is friendly and the room is very comfortable. We had an issue with the heat, but it was fixed. I highly recommend this hotel and I will be back in the near future. It was a pleasant experience for my family for our Thanksgiving Holiday!

Great location, king size suite was huge and perfect for a couple with a child. Chose this hotel and booking primarily due to it having a small kitchenette, however the it could do with a kettle for hot drinks instead of trying to use the coffee machine to dispense hot water!
The living room was great, and comes with a double sofabed that was comfortable enough for our child.
There is plenty of wardrobe/drawer clothes storage, but the bathroom was very tight and could do with bigger a bit bigger!
The decor looks a little dated, but that wasn't a problem. However, the only main issue with the room was the lack of sheer blinds so either you had to pull down the blackout blinds (which acted as curtains) in order to get changed, or to go into the bathroom to dress as the office workers will have a clear view of you!
The other downside of our stay was that the hotel was in the process of having the restaurant refurbished, so there was no where to order a snack/drink or have breakfast.
Hopefully after they have completed their works that this hotel will reach a 5* feedback.
Ps. must point out that the lobby staff were impeccable, and were definately the most helpful & friendly American staffing we found in our entire visit to America.

Stayed here with my family and it was perfect. Stayed in the king suite which was convenient with having kids because there is a microwave, fridge and sink so that you can easily make some microwavable meals for your children. Also, the subway is really close about a 10 minute walk from radio city 15 minute walk from time square. Found the property be very accessible. Also, everyone there was very helpful when it came to directions or just minor needs.

Our room was very tired. Peeling wallpaper, dirty window treatments, scuff marks on the walls. The only positive was that the suite was large enough for my family of 4 to spread out. For the same price you can definitely find a nicer hotel within mid-town. I would not stay here again.
