This hotel is a good choice. It’s clean, well-kept, and the staff is terrific. The kitchenette in our room was great for prepping snacks for our kids. But the best part is the location. It’s right near everything, including a subway line, but not in the middle of the tourist hoards, so it feels much more relaxed. Also, it’s right up against a real neighborhood (Turtle Bay), so there are tons and tons of good and reasonably-priced local restaurants. If you just want to walk around with New Yorkers and take in the experience away from the madness of Times Square, this is a great home base.

I stayed five nights at this property with my four children ages 8 thru 16 as well as my handicapped mother. We had a double queen bedroom with seperate living room that had a fold out couch and kitchentte. Our room was so lovely and spacious, we didnt want to leave! Ive stayed in other hotels in Manhattan which left us feeling cramped and no room to breath. Our room we felt was exceptional. The staff was friendly and attentive. The hotel itself was quiet inside and out. We were plenty close and within walking distance to downtown. Also within a few minutes walking to the nearest subway to get to where we needed. There are tons of restaurants and stores all around. And the price was completely affordable and reasonable for the space and ammentitites we received. I 10/10 will recommend this hotel to everyone and will be choosing this location for our future visits to NYC.

We had an excellent family stay at San Carlos hotel. The room was very spacious, regularly cleaned and all staff were super friendly and helpful. Will recommend to others visiting New York.

This hotel stay was amazing. Everything was within walking distance. Time Square / Rockefeller Center. I recommend this property to families with kids also.

This is my family's 4th stay at San Carlos. We have stayed in Premier Suite-King Bed, Premier Suite-Queen Bed, and Elite Suite-King Bed in 2019, 2021, 2023, and 2024. We absolutely love this hotel for its cleanliness, unmatched spaciousness (600 sq ft), and comfort and convenience coming from extra bathroom and a full kitchen. The area is very safe, close but not too close to many tourist attractions, and filled with nice restaurants. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC for work or pleasure, especially for longer stays.

We drive 15 hour car and w came here at 10:00 a.m. and chking time is 3:00 p.m. i and my children 6 hour wait for room. And not clean room. Under chair i find old socks pair. This is terrible

Room was clean and spacious with plenty of room for our family of six. Staff was professional, helpful, kind, friendly and attentive. Location was nice and it’s easy to get anywhere in the city that we wanted to go by either walking or hopping onto the nearby subway.
