Capt.'s Inn & Suites

Enjoyed our one night stay. Room was very clean, and very comfortable (2 full size beds). My grandchild enjoyed the outside pool very much. Great location, just minutes from boat tour, restaurants, shopping, and the drive-in theatre.

It’s a family atmosphere. I love vacationing here!

We were originally booked at Capt Inn & Suites and since they were closing prior to our booked reservation, we were moved to Thomson’s Resort. Thomson’s exceeded my expectations. It was really decorated nicely decorated and felt homey. The view off the balcony of Boldt Castle was spectacular as well! My only two critiques was that our room was located up 26 stairs and we weren’t told that ahead of time. I have a bad back so the stairs weren’t helpful and we tried to avoid going in and out of the room our whole stay to avoid the stairs. We did not book the room so we had no clue what we were getting and didn’t find out until we walked to it and found out it was 3 flights up with luggage and all. There was no way to change it since we were the last ones to arrive that day. The only other item I would change is the orientation of the toilet. It’s kiddie corner in the bathroom and would have been easier to use had it been oriented straight ahead, perpendicular to the shower. The counter sticks out a bit so I needed to bring light in with me when up to use the bathroom at night so as not to walk into the counter. But overall, the property is nice and and well cared for and clean, and of course you can’t beat the views.

Kim the attendent at check in was very helpful, polite and kind. She is very knowledgeable about the area and happy to help. Rooms were very clean and quiet. Very cozy for family stays.

Clean, handy, good location. Have stayed there on a family trip for the last 3 years and will certainly return.

My family and I recently stayed at Cap'n Inn & Suites and I must make you aware of the mold situation in our room. There was BLACK MOLD under the air conditioning unit and water was dripping into the room, not to mention the mold that was GROWING on the lampshade. The amount of mold made it difficult for us to breathe with the mildew smell. My husband and I, with our young children in tow, did not want to stay another night, so we decided to cut our losses and leave for home. When we told the receptionist about the mold, she said, "Really? We have had mold problems with other rooms. I don't know why they are not checked more often. Unfortunately, I cannot give you a refund". I did not ask for a refund, but I am not sure how a place can go on charging people for rooms that make it difficult to breathe and are unsanitary. I would not stay here again if someone paid me.

The rooms were nice. my only issues were 1) the floor was dirty. When you walked on it your feet turned black. Luckily there was a Dollar General down the road so I went and bought the swifter wet pads and washed the floor myself. 2) the bathroom sink was just a pedestal sink so there was no where to put you essentials. A shelf would be nice to put up so people can put them on it. 3) the refrigerator was not an average hotel one. It was smaller. I had to throw out some of the drinks and stuff for my kids because there was not enough room. It sat on top of the dresser, so you lose that space to put your things. Also no microwave. Not ideal if you have little ones and need to heat up a bottle of food for them.

Its a good and safe stay just next to downtown.. have been with child but no issue at all.. good place to relax and enjoy the nature

comfort stay. easy access to family dollar for personal care, food and drinks. near gas station and to uncle sam boat tour.
