Hilton Garden Inn Albuquerque Uptown

There’s a lot of construction surrounding the hotel, and we had to park in a construction area because the hotel doesn’t have a lot of spots right now. Not a big deal. I had booked a room with 2 beds and a pull out couch because we are a family of 5. We got to the hotel at 2am, we finally get to our room exhausted and there’s one bed and a pull out couch. I go downstairs because the front desk phone wasn’t working (it was giving a busy signal) and the front desk person said the overnight maintenance and cleaning crew didn’t show so she couldn’t move us. She also couldn’t give us extra blankets or pillows because she didn’t know where to get them without the staff? Idk. In the morning I complained to the front desk and got 1,000 Hilton points: just a meh experience.

I was shocked to find out that I was not given two rooms that I paid for. A nice manager figured out that I had another room but it was under my son's name. When I made my reservations I was told that I could not have my name on both rooms. They were not going to release the second room to me because my son was not there yet but his cranky kids were there and needed a room. That issue was resolved. We were put on the very noisy side of the hotel. The furniture had scratches on it. The breakfast offered was very expensive- we did not get the breakfast. The pool was very crowded until about 10 on Saturday night- we did not go. The only outstanding thing was the staff that was very accommodating. Your cleaning staff is excellent!

The staff and service was amazing and kind, we asked for a stool so our children could reach the sink to wash hands etc and they did loan us one for the duration of our stay. The stool was a maintenace stool and totally filthy but a few towels over it made it look ok. I asked for a room with a decent view and i got one overlooking the freeway, but i could barely see it through the thick white film on the windows. The pool was lacking the slide that they took out years ago because they would have to employ a lifeguard for it. The pool area and gym were neat and tidy but the pool itself was either gross looking or emited too many chemicals. Their tubs in the room are good sized, bigger than the hot tub in the pool area. Was overall a 3.7/5 stars.

My family stayed here at the tail end of a long roadtrip. We booked this hotel specifically for the waterslide only to find out after checking in that it has been removed. This really should be removed from the advertising as it is incredibly misleading. We had a handleful of other issues during our stay, including the pool being so cloudy i was concerned to let my child use it, the hot tub having what appeared to be soap bubbles with slimey residue on top, confusion over checkout times (site says noon but hotel says 11) and having housekeeping let themselves into our room unannounced not once but twice during our 36 hour stay. I'm not generally one to complain but had intended to mention all of this at checkout but there was no one at the desk for at least 15 minutes. The room itself was fine but i won't be staying here again.
