Hotel is built like an armed camp for the neighborhood. Front door locked at all times. Garages poorly laid out, here and there, with gates that are clumsy to access. Staff is processing, not hospitality trained. All the warmth of a January day, in Alaska. After a long drive from Utah to New Mexico, we pushed the comm button a couple of times to be admitted to the one door that lets people in and out. The desk clerk ground out our check-in like sausage. We noticed that they had a bar/restaurant. We decided to get a drink. I ordered. My 23 year old kid came down. They asked for his ID. When they saw that he had a vertical ID, they acted like it was nuclear. Can’t serve you. State Law. He checked state law. Pulled it up. It says that all IDs are honored except NEW MEXICO vertical IDs. He politely showed the food manager that he was reading this. The manager refused to even look at the law, right off of the state sight. Said it was the GM’s call. I went to the front desk. The AGM came out, WITH a security guard in tow. She wouldn’t look at it either. Was “I’m not going to listen to a word” rude. Maybe they book a lot of thugs here. They manage for it. Bad neighborhood. Sub-motel grade management. Not out of state friendly. Find another hotel.

What a nice place, clean updated, stayed with family and pet. Dry quiet place. Brenedette at the front desk was awesome. Very helpful. Would definitely stay there again.

A friend selected this hotel and I opted to stay at the same one as she. My kid didn’t care that it lacked a pool. We walked to a food court 1/2 mile from the hotel and passed many homeless people. Perhaps every hotel there has homeless people around as another friend said there was a camp near his. Overall, the stay was fine. The parking got full, so is an issue. Not the hotels fault but people were drag racing on the street that fronts the hotel. A loud fan helped to drown out the noise. There are a few good restaurants within walking distance and great restaurants within a 10 minute drive. Location was good and the room was clean and spacious.

Parking was a hassle. Had to park in a sketchy parking lot across the street. Luckily I could see my car from my room window. Check in was smooth. The gentleman who checked me in was quite friendly. As for EVERYONE else who works there, they seemed very rude & unwelcoming. Especially the lady with lavender colored hair. Yikes. The hotel itself was very elegant but the location was just a bit inconvenient for this family trip. There’s no swimming pool which was fine this time, but if we had our kids, that would’ve been an issue. Check out went smoothly as well. I don’t think I would stay here again despite how beautiful the property is.
